But it Isn´t the coldest city of Spain, other important Cities like Burgos (880masl), Soria (1020 masl), León (800 masl), Ávila (1200masl) or Palencia (750masl) are Coldest. Greatings from Spain!
  4. First, sorry for my English is poor . I think that Edinburgh (and London of course) is the most pretty city of the world. I have been in Edinburgh with my girlfriend (she is Scottish) in my holidays (summer 2009, October 2009, February 2010 and March 2010). In two month I going to Edinburgh, Might I will stay there for one year, because I wanna learn English and my girlfriend want to finish her university in Scotland. Well the Edinburgh´s weather is nice, It´s many days with sun. When I was there, I saw many days with rain, but only one o two hours (In Spain is horrible..the weather may be 48 hours rainning and two month under clouds in Novembre and December). Thanks Pierre.
  5. Hello British friends!. Well..In Spain we are having a bit warm February and first days of March...only one snow day in Madrid city, and only four snow days in my Town. This February is so wet, with many rain days ( I have 19 days with rain), so the minimum temperatures are so high. I have just had eight air frost days (usually I have 15 or 16). February in Madrid City (SW zone 610masl): Snow days: 1 Air frost days: 5 Minimum temperature: -7,8º Maximum temperature: 18,5º (It is a bit high) Raining days: 16 (It´s unusually, Usually Madrid has 7 or 8 days in February) Well, this set of picts are from the Mountains of Madrid. Is normal this snow cover. Bye friends!
  6. hehe Nice, Canadá is an amazing country...forest...mountains...plains...icebergs
  7. Silence in the forest, here the wolves are ready for hunter sheep...Ancient times (19 century), the bears lived in that forests. Now only there are bears in the mountains and leafy forests of North/North West of Spain. And a one pict from Vitoria: Vitoria (500masl, 235.000 inhabitants) Greetins from Spain
  8. Well...the coast of NE of Spain..is not strange to see the Snow. San Sebastián in the bay of Vizcaya is the most cold coast city in Spain..because it is nearly to the continent (more extreme). I remember heavy snowfalls in San Sebastian...in 1996 more than 30cm...in 1986 more than 30cm in 2005 more than 15cm. The only strange thing in this cold spell, it has been the Snowfall in Seville and Cordoba. -23º in Spain is normal in the cold Steppes...the Record is -32º. This winter is normal....a bit cold..but this week is so warm with temperatures in Madrid like 8º or 9º (+4º) Yes....but no...Spain has a so dificult clime..In the south the Snow is not strange over 600masl (many land of the south) hehehe yes, but the last year was a so good...15/20cm in the center of Madrid (15/20 cm in the center of Madrid is so strange, the last was in 1997 with 12cm in the centre. hehehe in Spain the British are so welcome in Madrid! Yes my girlfriend is Scottish (from Penicuik, Edinburgh)...She has been in Madrid for a one week in January...She saw: "Oh my god..I don´t understand..Snow and freezing temperatures in Madrid!" hehehe Typical topic of Spain...like Spain is a desert (Spain is the third european country with more forests, with 58%), Spain warm, All time Siesta and beach hehehehe. Ancient winters were winters..My mother remember Snowfalls that 50 or 60cm in 60´s....and my brother in the firsts years of 80´s..when the Snowfalls in Madrid were Snowfalls with 15/20cm...Now the Winters are a bit warm.. Greatins from the warm and tropical Spain hehehe
  9. Yes, Sevilla saw Snow over fourty or fourty five minutes. Records in Sevilla: Tem. max. absoluta (ºC) 46.6 (23 jul 1995) Tem. min. absoluta (ºC) -5.5 (12 feb 1956) The last heavy snowfall in Sevilla was in 1956 with 15cm of Snow. All land of Spain has saw the Snow, of course in the beaches the snow is very strange. Thank you for the replies!
  10. Hi British friends!!!, This year, your winter is SO GOOD!!. I could see in Spanish TV news the dramatic landscapes of your winter!!, SO GOOD!. UK is so amazing. Well, in Spain this winter is a bit good, the temperatures are sometimes SO cold, but in sometimes are warm (like today). In important cities of North Spain had a temperatures totally extremes. -20º and -25º (Record is -32º, February of 1956). Well...Córdoba, and Sevilla saw the Snow! As you can see, Spain is a country with extreme contrasts. Well, that set of images are from Madrid (light/medium snowfall of 10-01-2010 5cm): Burgos (200.000 inhabitants, Cold sttepes from centre/north Spain 880masl) Pamplona (198.000 inhabitants, 400masl, North Spain) Snow in the beach (San Sebastián, North of Spain) Misc. Snowfall in valleis from Andalucia (Sevilla, Córdoba...) Greatins from Spain!! B)
  11. Yes, this snowfall was a so rare. Because the temperature was over -4º...and the temperatures in 2000 masl were +0,5/+1...well, in Madrid over the 06:30 no Snow, Rain ice (How do you sais in English..Rain with -4º?). So Madrid was a chaos...
  12. So nice photos. Stockholm is a Nice City. I want to go there. Thank you, Merry Christmas too. Greetings from Spain
  13. One freezing week in all Spain, minimun temperatures: Burgos: -18º León:-18º Soria: -17º Many towns in North Spain: under -20º Las Navas del Marqués: -24º Madrid: -8º (centre), -12 and -13 in the river zone. My town (Villalba;nearly Madrid): -13º Segovia, Avila, Valladolid: under -10º Many terminals of Madrid´s airport were closed about three hours for the snowfall and the heavy frost. The last heavy snowfall in Madrid was in 9 of January 2009 Second light snowfall in this December in Madrid (21-12-2009; 3/4cm): Centre of Madrid: Other Cities like León and Burgos (the minimun temperatures was a -18 and -20; and max was under -3 or -4) León 16-12-2009 (In this city, snowfalls like that are typicals in Winter): León (improtant city of Centre/north of Spain) neven dais later to Snowfall: And photos from Burgos (other important city typical for yours Snowfalls al winters) Capital Cities with snowfall in the last week: Zamora, Ávila, Segovia, Valladolid, Salamanca, Soria, León, Burgos, Palencia (All Castilla). 14. So nice pictures. Autumn is a good time for takes photos. Beatifull colours, nice contrast.
  15. In Benidorm is so difficult. Only one o two for twenty years. Benidorm is so warm and dry. Thank you for the reply Maybe, sometimes the icicles are all day. In the cities of Spanish Center-North, many days in Winter they have a icicles and frozenfog. (today in my city the maximun temperature: -0,8º) The Typical day in my zone is (nearly Madrid): At night under 0 grades, and the day over 6 or 8 grades with "Sun" (winter sun) and frosts in the shadows all day (Also is typical in Cold Invasions days under 0º). In Cordoba (100 meters) the last Snowday was in January of 2007. In Granada (650 meters) had a little Snowfall in Monday. Importants Cities like Ávila, Segovia, Burgos, Soria, Palencia, León, Cuenca, Vitoria, Pamplona and others zones about 700/1000 meters in the center and north of Spain they have an importants Snowfalls all years. Madrid, Salamanca, Lugo, Logroño, Albacete, Huesca, Zamora, Valladolid and other zones about 500/700 meters (maybe the 50 or 60 porcent of Spain); They have a snowfalls all years but they aren´t a big snowfalls (sometimes yes, but usually no more than 10cm) In the mountains all years have a very heavy snowfalls, but in the sea level in Spain is very difficult to see Snow (but no impossible). thanks for reply. And sorry for my English. See you later! Into the white line, important Snowfalls all years.
  16. Madrid is a high city (600-750 meters)and nearly big mountains with more than 2000 meters. It is not uncommon, Madrid has usually one snow day in December (in the center, but in the suburbians is different they have a two or three snow days). All years the snow has visited Madrid. In the modern winters Madrid have a bad winters...ancients winters were very cold and a lot of snow days. The bigest snowfalls are typicals in January or February. But Madrid isn´t typical for Snow..the typical in winter are the frosts. Record in Madrid: 150cm (November of 1904) Years with more than 10cm in 00´s years (in Madrid city): 2001, 2005, 2006, 2009 Thanks a lot for the replies. And sorry for my English.
