  1. Hi Nigel Not far off Tattershall road then, i was up that way on Monday, looking round a car boot at Boston FC. Have your parents lived in Boston long, changing place now, alot of eastern block people. Regards Les
  2. Just some photos from Sundays snow, pleased to use the sledge again. Les
  3. snow showers this afternoon, sometimes heavy but blown away quickly in strong winds. Les
  4. Sorry if off topic, but ive just mentioned google earth weather section in winter discussion and whether that is current, shows temps, cloud and radar. Les
  5. They are just incredible photos, our country would come to a standstill with that amount, thanks for sharing. Les
  6. I remember that one quite well myself, we had a blizzard on the 13th with the snow staying until after Boxing day, to me that was a white christmas, i cannot see how 1 single snowflake on the met office roof can be a white christmas. Les
  7. Any talk of a white christmas at this stage is a bit silly, whatever the odds lets just wait until at least a week before the big day. Regards Les
  8. Very true, over the past 1000 years the climate has been warmer and colder before cars and planes were about.
  9. Im sure they were predicting colder winters during the early 80s, and then after 87 it seemed to all change, have we been just unlucky, and are winters remembered more for large snowfall rather than long cold spells. Les
  10. We had the Thursday and Friday off school during the February snowstorm, just wish i had taken photos, i can still remember some great shaped drifts. Les
  11. Quite right John didnt need to repeat original post, but it was nice reading from Mr Data. Les
  12. It was an amazing week for me, great time spent in Buxton with the school on an outdoor activity week, being only 14 i was quite excited by the time Wednesday came with heavy snow showers giving a thick covering. On Friday 11th we got the skis out which was my first time ever, on a golf course in Buxton i think, but that was only for the morning because we at to leave in the afternoon to go back home. We got back to Boston about 9pm leaving Buxton to a snowy scene while Boston had nowt, that all changed by Sunday the 13th when we had a great snowstorm as Mr D said the snow lay on the ground until after Boxing day. Even though officially it was not a white christmas in my eyes it was, great time and only seems like yesterday. Thanks Mr D. Les
  13. Steve Last years forcast for a cooler winter was pretty good. Some people use prediction on past winters, but how many winters are spoken about because of snow events than winters that were colder with less snow. Les
  14. Theres nothing wrong with LRF that predict a pattern, but predicting types of weather on certain weeks in one to two months ahead is a bit silly.
  15. August was only a few weeks ago so no suprise about the warm weather still around.
