  1. Welcome to Netweather, my advice would be to sit back and enjoy, lots of info on here and you will get to know quite early when cold weather could be arriving. Regards Les
  2. I was 14 at the time and on the 7th we went on a school trip to Buxton, an outdoor activity week, and what a great week. It was my first time to Buxton and how lovely it was compared to the flatlands of Lincolnshire. The snow started on the Tuesday night and just kept falling all week, i remember canoing in Chapel en le Frith [i think its spelt] and we needed to break the ice. It was sad to leave Buxton at the end of the week as there was no lying snow when we got back only snow showers that didnt add up to much, that all changed on the Sunday as we had a blizzard [the 13th]and the snow lasted up till boxing day after the mild weather arrived, so yes white christmas that year in my eyes and a great number 1 in the charts as well, where have all the years gone. Regards Les
  3. We are the same, rain and sleet with a steady thaw, cannot seeing changing thought even if local radio are forecasting more snow later for our region. Regards Les
  4. Do we know what the forecast is for tomorrow, last night BBC was saying that on Thursday the east side was going to be hit really hard due to a developing low, this morning on BBC radio Lincs they were just forecasting a few snow flurries now. Regards Les
  5. Nice to see the snow falling again, not really settling, will need to see if it stays as snow or turns back to rain. Les
  6. might turn to snow, just need to wait and see, roads be bad later when the temps fall Les
  7. Lets hope so, couple more inches on top of the 4 we already have will do nicely, and if still around cristmas day then in my eyes a white christmas, none of this single snowflake rubbish. Regards Les
  8. Roughly same temp here, according to John Kettely on Radio Lincolnshire tonight it was going to be snow rather than rain, although he did say it was a difficult forecast. Les
  9. Strange still cold in Boston, no thaw of the snow, just waiting to see what happens. Les
  10. Just started snowing heavy in Boston again, last night was good with massive snowflakes. Les
  11. Same here, graupel shower about an hour ago, slight covering other than that very cold and windy, dont think we will get much some how. Les
  12. Its the same old story year in year out, will it wont it, i will wait a week before christmas to see, at the moment its 50/50, none of this nonsense 25% for southern areas and 40% for northern areas. Regards Les
  13. Still snowing here, no thawing just yet will need to see what happens later during the night. Les
  14. Im pretty sure it will be rain for us as well, too close to the coast im afraid. Les
  15. This was mentioned that the snow may turn to rain, its always difficult in these situations to get it right, better luck next time for us. Les
  16. I work at Sleaford and there can be a big difference in temperatures with Boston being nearer to the coast and being further inland. You might have some sleet or rain but not for long, then below freezing for the rest of the night. Les
  17. Unfortunately Lady Mcbeth we are under the milder air now in boston, been raining for the past 2 hours, snow now slush and thawing quite quickly. Les
  18. Showers have pepped up a bit around Boston, nice covering with the strong wind blowing the snow around. Les
  19. Morning LO Be good to see how much you get to us here in Boston, can be big differences in Lincolnshire. Enjoy, Les.
  20. Just out of interest does anyone know what the winter long range forecast were back in 1946/47 and 1962/63, sorry if in wrong section but if the met office had difficulty forecasting then you can understand the accurate timing of this years Christmas forecast and whether it will be mild or cold. Regards Les
  21. The pub at Antons Gout used to be called The Oak tree pub but has now changed to the Malcom Arms, we went a few times last summer, the kids playing in the garden while us adults enjoyed a pint as well. I used to fish the Maud foster all the time when i was younger must admit some nice places to fish around our way. All the best Nigel, you never know may bump into you at the Malcom arms. Regards Les
