Blimey
Spectacular Fork Lightening and booming thunder near Hasland
-
Not the best cam as it skips frames, but in a way is better as it has just shown a lightening strike out at sea from Boscombe and it seems as slow motion
http://www.urbanreef.com/surf-reef-webcam.html
And the usual Bournemouth one

Oh I'm having more fun watching people go round on the little rollercoaster haha Saw a flash out to sea too
I got drawn to watching that as well lol.
Better now the webcam gone into night mode. Quite a few flashes
-
Only the odd flash so far, but lightening out at sea including a CG

Good shout Odd spot...just seen a couple of strikes on that Le havre webcam!
Seems to be pepping up nearer Le Havre now. Just as nights falling as well to make a good show

Does seem to be back building.
All the lightning flashes seems to be inter cloud. Not bad though
-
Our tears of sadness solidify to create the shield.
It's getting dark here anyway. Hopefully it goes with a bang.
Seemingly heading towards us then splitting up. Frequent distant rumbles though and the cats shot in the house
Looks like fun out towards Ashbourne then Bakewell
-
Just had a overhead flash and bang. Like a shotgun going off.
Nice
-
What a storm! Still going on, fork lightning, very loud thunder, pouring down *hello rain, its been a while!* amazing!
Getting a fair view of it from here. Just a pity for the houses and street lights obscuring some of the view
-
Nothing here now although constant non stop flashes looking east towards the M1 and towards Mansfield
-
The one approaching us from the south. Just started to rain now. It's taking some blooming time to get here. Has it put the handbrake on as it seem to be hanging about around 4 miles south of here
Also, no thunder or lightning coming from it either...just rain
-
Dont make me anymore jealous please!
Typical that home would get a storm when im on holiday, looks like Nottingham is in for a battering aswell.
The main cell behind which was over Leicester and seemingly heading towards Derby, has now started to follow the M1 which means it'll miss us by 5 miles. Does this every time
-
Rumbling away in the distance to the south. That one over Derby has exploded into life and seems to be heading for us
-
I guess any snow event will be disappointing compared to December 2010 from now on.
True. And being in Italy at the beginning of last month were it was 3 foot deep and -15 in the mountain towns and we were trundling around in my sisters peugeot convertable and managed fine . It's quite amusing really how this country comes to a stand still with a couple of inchs on the ground
-
The lightest of dustings here in Chesterfield, the snow is amongst the lightest I've ever laid eyes upon but hey, at least it's there.
Nowt spectacular is it. Might get a bit heavier in the next hour if we're lucky, but otherwise i'll look forward to tomorrows dinner / afternoons snow if it happens
-
Well that was a suprise.
Got woken around 1 ths morning with thunder. Not really close, i'd say around 5/6miles away towards Junction 29 of the M1 motorway though one lightning stike was around 2 miles away.
Around 10 flashes but not sure of the type as we have a house and trees in view of our window
-
Loads of thunder and flashes to go with it but too much rain though to get any decent views of lightnng.
Rainfall amounts were huge a few minutes ago.
-
It is just like yesterday now outside.
Dull and dreary with the odd spot of rain and there's not much in the way for any improvement looking at the satellite. We need some more sun to boost things.
Boring.
-
The suns been out, im about 15 mins away and we have had no sun here, a few miles makes a difference it seems!
Becoming very dark here now, looks like it is going to hit
No sun now Mark. Just fast moving scud cloud. It's gone very dark towards the area I mentioned and it looks to be moving towards us at S41.
-
Blimey it's sweaty out there. The sun has been out here for the last 30 minutes or so.
Looks dark towards over and beyond Calow / Staveley. Which probably is the worksop cell you guys mention
Got some good vibes about getting sommat stormy today as yesterday was boring and drizzly with not one bit of brightness
-
Oh well. Not bad while it lasted (the thundery rain what we had this morning). They mention home grown storms on the bbc but that seems more south west rather than up here in S41
All cleared for the time being with not much to look forward to looking at the latest radar so it looks like a dry walk to the pub
At least the garden has had a good watering.
-
Hi all, couldnt resist to share the joy of last nights storms in Nottingham. Awesome super bright CG lightning storm at 10.30pm last night. Calander shots of lightning though, absolutely beautiful full horizon strikes. Lasted for about 45 minutes. TORRENTIAL rains that I havent seen for years!!! Wind got pretty full on for about 3 minutes or so too. Then ANOTHER storm about an hour or 2 later? I was asleep and woke up to it. Also deep thunder, very bright lightning again, lasted for about 20 minutes half hour. THEN at 8am I awoke to more torrential rain with embedded deep thunder for about 45 minutes. Still peeing it down but thunder passed for now.
FANTASTIC NIGHT FOR NOTTINGHAM FOR ONCE IN ITS WEATHERLESS LIFE
and its thundering AGAIN!!!!!
Thought it was the afternoon/evening of beer that was making my eyes flash. In seriousness we could see the distant flashes throughout the late evening towards and beyond the M1 towards Notts.
Sky seem to be brightening up to the SW at the moment
-
Still no change on the radar regarding rainfall intensity. Very slow moving so looks like a while yet of this cloudy rainy rumbley morning
Quite heavy rain now and the thunder has returned above us. Still a elevated effort though. No lightning seen
Oops, just gone boom again (no lightning)
