My efforts from this month.

The glorious flatlands of Lincolnshire. Seems to be doing well at the moment with the old downward flirt of a cloud.
There was a bit of one towards the hills on the other side of Chesterfield yesterday afternoon. Though not a smooth edged funnel type formation (no camera available)
However. It did look a bit like the ones that decend from the cloud base but are rough on the edges?
Anyway Iain. Fantastic pictures though.
Welcome

Although it dry now. We have had a eventful 24 hours(ish) around here in Chesterfield
Horns Bridge (A617) was flooded AND CLOSED (it still might be after his evenings deluge) at the main roundabout (which the roadworks are trying their best to mess up).
To those who do not know where Horns Bridge is, it is the end of the bypass into chesterfield from the M1 motorway on the A617.
All roads were gridlocked going into Chesterfield whichever way you tried to get in. It took us 1 hour 10 ish to go the 2 mile into town. This became a 8 mile diversion in the end to drop our Gert off at work.
Also. I'd love to see a picture, but apparently there were submerged cars BUT A ROBIN RELIANT BOBBING UP AND DOWN IN THE FLOOD WATER. And from the reports i hear it is true B)
Then there was the bit of a lull this afternoon.
To cap off. I walked to the pub with a brolly just as the storm more or less passed through us after tea time today. All i got from our lass was "Don't lose that brolly because it's works". Not bothered about me getting struck just in case a lingering cloud spark got me B)
As a landscaper. I now need some dry weather over the weekend (sunday with the looks of it) to dry the ground out for turfing on Tuesday. Nothing worse than laying grass in the rain and mud

Small storm on its way past Chesterfield now. 2 cracks of thunder so far

My first entry for this month..
Where is this one taken Kelly? Is it near Bembridge?
Good picture anyway.
Is Aprils photo competition a sunset theme. I reckon mine came out okay to say it was taken with a mobile phone (the unedited picture that is)
Anyway. In Bournemouth from the 28th July til the 4th August, then we are stopping in Sandown from Aug 4th - Aug 11th at Fairways. Enjoyed it last year
-
My 3 entries are taken with a Sony Ericsson K800i mobile phone.
The first two are taken at Poolsbrook Country Park (if anyone knows where it is)
The first one is edited with a photo editor
This one is the same picture but the original version
And this one is taken at the Humber Bridge on Bank Holiday Monday

A few rumbles of thunder a couple of miles away from our house towards Chesterfield.
What a mixed bag we've had today
-
Ahh. Now then.
They will all need to be deleted then
This was taken on the 4th September 2006 with my mobile phone

Thunderstorm in south sheffield. heavy rain flashs and thunder. Looks worse to the west in the peaks brighter to the east.

Same here. Lots of fairly close thunder, but I only saw one lightning flash, and this was accompanied by one huge bang. I nearly s*it meself
Sunny now though as if nothing had happened

The cloud is zooming in all directions with lightning becoming more frequent than 15 minutes ago.
See if these videos work for anyone. The is a couple with cloudblowing outwards and upwards. And a couple with lightning
-
Very black clouds approaching from the south with bright lightning about 3 miles away but no thunder to accompany it.
-
Thundering towards the western side of Chesterfield. Can't see any lightning tho'
More please

snow and hail showers on and off today. Very heavy hail and snow for the last half hour. Has given a nice covering. These pics are from 10 mins ago. More to follow! Current temp is 0.7oc
Ditto to your report here in Chesterfield at the moment

About ruddy time here as well.
We are having the first flakes of this cold spell in Chesterfield, and it's settling easily (obviously due to the coldness of the ground).
How much we get of the stuff is another matter.
-
odd spot and typhoon
can you tell me, I used to live around there, just where you are, and how much is lying on the ground if any please?
tks

Sorry for the delay. But in case you forgot John. I'm from Hasland.
Can't you remember asking me this a few months ago
Never mind.
Anyway. There is nothing here at all. The odd flurry, but not settling.
-
Here it comes again! Big Fluffy Flakes. Bring it on!!!
Hi fellow spireite.
The damn stuff's not settling though is it.
