Maybe the Latter stages of Tomorrow- Depends how much left on it by then-
it COULD be enhanced by the flow off the North Sea- Ya never know.....
S
Is this not getting tedious considering itsjust some frontal snow. Can you imagine if it was getting pushed south by a blowing north easterly. Jesus
-
At the moment everything is up in the air.
A fair assesment at the moment would be snow event tomorrow, cold Fri, Possible snow Sat (uncertain where), less cold Sunday.
But then comes along the 12Z GEM

Any chance of the cold lasting dude. Bit of snow and the models go out of the window.

The Fax charts up to +72 have already been updated and we are awaiting the +96 & +120 which should be out shortly.
Oops wrong ones I thought it was Mon
Bit confused teits, me head is spinning dude. When the updated fax charts come thro can you post them, im needing to sleep. thanks
-
Bit of straw clutching but when are "or have " the fax charts been updated.
-
Well yet again looking towards sat"cant see snow" and beyond i think were heading towards a spell of zonal weather be it not mild.Cant see any decent pressure rise towards the north east at all.The atlantic seems to be gathering pace.
-
Having looked at all charts i would still go with the fax charts. That said theres not a big support for pressure rising to the north and east so maybe gfs isnt wide of the mark. The bbc will soon let us know.

QUOTE(Paul B @ 6 Feb 2007, 10:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Too early to be too specific Mick, but I would again suggest the Midlands and Wales. I know many here are dismissing any prospect of snow for Saturday, but I wouldn't! Dismiss it at your peril!Good call but are you basing that on the low running south,if so why. Thanks
-
Things for the long term have just been shunted to far north.Good couple of hours snow but the warm air looks like its going to push well north.Cant see where the snow for sat is coming from anyway.
-
If everything is moving north dosnt that kill the snow option off come saturday.
-
Evening all, Hope your all good. I'm just back from 2 weeks skiing holiday in Canada and I'ts nice to see that the uk may be finally heading for some decent snow.
As for canada, well I didnt think the air could get so cold. It has been my first time to north america and certainly the coldest temps ive ever experienced, I was like a little kid on the plane as the captain announced (Good morning we will be landing at Ottawa in 30 mins, The weather is clear and the temperature is MINUS 34C!)
As for here at home I think it will even snow in Carlisle this week
Wrong thread.

If i can make a post"without it being deleted for some biased reason", my take on thursdays snow is that the low will be towards the midlands max, and areas towards birmingham south will see a good fall of snow.Come saurday i think the models have probably got it right and any snow will be further north before it turns milder.Forty five years of forecasting and i know nothing, apparently.
-
So all things considered has ANYONE got any idea what will happen after thusday and thro the weekend. Thanks in advance.
-
Absolute BUMMER, where is tall pauls dome.
What does this mean, will itsnow in sheff then
-
Well both our local weather on calendar and the bbc are saying its on a knife edge.Fax charts look pretty good and thats the charts they were using up to sat.
-
22 mins til countryfile forecast lol ive got a feeling we will be dissapointed by it though
Ithink the theme will be a cold frosty week with coastal snow showers. They generally hold there cardsclose to there chest which is fair enough given the complicated set up.Maybe a mention of a snowy breakdown but a lot of ifs and buts.
-
What a lovely way to start the day.
Lovely crisp sunshine early in the week, very low min temps, possible snow events and this could all be upgraded!. Even in the longer term it doesn't look exactly mild and like I said last night N Blocking could well dominate during this month.
Whatever you do make sure your central heating works correctly because I wouldn't be suprised if a few locations record -10C or below!. You know the models are good because WIB has gone AWOL on this thread .
See you later for the next episode of model watch which could star the beast himself :o
Well hes deffo there at the end of the run teits
-
YEP looks like the high is going south east. :o
-

Well my "cold spell"has just contained sleet, suppose i should be greatfull .
Forgot me one night of hard air frost,COME ON.
Gosh it's pretty grim in here isn't it? I can almost feel it.Chin up chaps. At least we can look forward to summer heat and storms! (Unless zonality continues into summer and brings us muggy cloudy mid-level inversions and drizzle....)
Cant wait till we hit 37c, again .At least its extreme unlike our rank so called winter.Just to note its quite chilly in sheff, ie 1987.
