  1. Noticed the UKStorms storms one stalled too, my guess is some kind of logging or reset going on at midnight!!! I just hoping my HD Camera can catch it if it dont veer off from crawley (nothing comes to crawley, not even weather lol)
  2. Wow, some impressive noise on the radio (AM) really loud clear pops almost constantly! Happy days!!!
  3. is it just me or has the IOW weather detector stopped updating, showing a flat line and all of the strikes stalled!
  4. Loads of faint flashes to my south west, high up lighting up the sky almost above at times, Gone VERY quiet out with dogs barking, very erie indeed! Also getting that "smell of rain" even though nowhere near us yet! looking on the meteox radar is there a cell developing ahead over eastbourne way??
  5. Checked out of my southern window, can see flashes across the sky, very impressive so far And typical, found my tripod but cannot find my old camcorder which has the mounting plate attached... so cannot tripod up my camera :/
  6. Woo may be able to finally catch some lightning on me new HD camcorder....... hopefully it would do the usual thing and open up a hole and skirt to either side of Crawley.... Fingers crossed i can add to my 2 poor lightning videos on my youtube account
  7. Just came home from work in Tunbridge wells, saw some great growth to the north on way home along the A264 Tunbridge wells to east grinstead route. I managed to take 3 pictures. 1st is in Tunbridge wells looking north 2nd is in Blackham to the west of t.wells looking north east, noticed the cloud formation growing quickly, i stopped and could see it growing. 3rd is on the eastern edge of east grinstead looking north, the formation has massively grown. 1st around 8:30PM, 2nd around 8:45 and 3rd around 9:10
  8. nice little storm with about 6/7 rumbles just passed north of where I work in tunbridge wells. Got VERY hot and humid too
  9. Damn that nice big heavy blob on the meteox radar has dissipated to the south of me, was hoping for at least a really good rain storm if wasnt to see a thunderstorm tonight. Looks like its all raining itself out
  10. Rain quietened down a bit now, but seeing a nice blob on the radar to south on the meto and meteox.... so looks like gonna get very wet here. No more flashes seen however
  11. I saw flash to north westerly direction started raining hard here now.
  12. Getting very heavy pressure headache just like earlier, was just outside covering some stuff and sure i seen some faint flashes over the houses to south. Just started raining too. Already missed a lot earlier, I now work in Tunbridge Wells and was sitting outside pub (Hop House) at about 6:00-6:30 with work mates and it started raining and rumbling, thank god for the awnings..... sadly i had to drive back to crawley so drove out of the rain toward east grinstead. into clearing skies in crawley. I will remain hopeful for tonight.
  13. Dark clouds, lightning and thunder just to the north of Crawley, Was cycling home at the time. Seems fairly distant, maybe about 10 miles north/north east It is Dark from north west to the north east, the east is dark clouds. To the south lighter clouds and to the west broken clouds with sun. Very humid and the birds are quiet *Added - Just saw the UKstorms sferics page and all of a sudden, losts of strikes appear in last 10 mins.
  14. That looks like the tollgate hill are if i'm right?... Which direction was that taken in.... i must of missed those when i popped into my studio to monitor music on my station (figures) I'm up by Goffs Park/Downland drive area and have a large Amateur Radio Antenna on my roof so get a bit nervous when thunderstorms in area. If anyone is interested I have some camcorder footage of the storm last week which knocked out power in crawley. As i finish writing this, its just started pelting down again and my internet gone slow :/
  15. Hi all, just found this Keep hearing distant rumbling around Crawley, West Sussex area. (I know its nto the planes at Gatwick ) May of seen a couple of flashes to the south west, however the Horsham railway line runs over that direction. I now cant see anything showing however on various lightning sites, I tend to use www.ukstorms.com, www.isleofwightweather.co.uk and i have an map image on my own website (www.fun4forums.co.uk). Have just in last 20 minutes heavy rain. Anyone else in the area witnessed anything? Carl
