Dry air equates to less saturated air, meaning precipitation has a greater chance of staying as snow even when temps reach 4 degrees, reason why northerlies and easterlies tend to bring snowfall with higher temps than north westerlies.

Any precipitation pre dawn tomorrow should fall readily as snow away from extreme coastal areas.

Question is how much mixing of the cold air will occur once the trough/frontal feature moves in. Go to the scottish thread for an indication, its where I will be looking in the morning..

Absolutely freezing here hard frost, what time can we expect the front is it tonight or tomorrow night

Would be great if a few short notice features crop and or increase in potency they are NW England's biggest snow makers - Cumbria was forecast a few cm max at the start of the Dec but some areas saw close to a ft. I'm managing expectations by expecting nothing so will be happy with anything white that falls from the sky this week 😂

Expect nothing and don't be disappointed 🤣

Best stay in this thread in coming days, if you don't wish to read a gloomy mod thread, namely because snow prospects for southern parts look rather slim and the atlantic is set to return next weekend, get ready for the end of winter posts....

Noticed it all day, I'm not sure some some get away with it
