no snow here B) but it did get down to -6.8 the coldest this year. temp are at 5.2 now, presure 1000.1mb and little wind - also frustratingly my weather station has been teasing me with the snow flake for the past 2 days and its a clear blue sky!

snowing on the mountains here at the moment. Had a few sleety drops here too - my wether station says its now cold enough to snow here -- all i need is a friendly cloud

A good frost this morning and remarkbly temps are still falling (drop 1.5c in 30mins) we are now at -4.6C bar 996mb

Patchy blue ski here with some very dark and heavey looking clouds comining from the west. Windy, temperature droping after peaking at 9.3C at midnight - now at 7.4. Barometer is droping fast at 1014.6. strongest gust at 35.4 km/hr (04:55). looked as though some heavey rain was falling on the mountains which has now stopped - hope it turns to snow.

a warmer night - only down to -1.1 actually got up to 3.6 at 1.38am. oddly its got a touch colder as i type at -1.2

its warming up slightly - just barely below 0 at -0.3 had got down to about -2 at 5.30 - hope it stays cold

not as cold as the night before but managed a respectable -5.3. and its now still only -3.3

aha - it will interesting seeing the differences in temperatures. He's on top of the Pennines (which usually get more snow) I'm in the cumbrian mountains - nera Grisdale Pike and Grasmoor

yes i'm looking forward to knowing how windy it is - its been very windy in the valley today - my daughter nearly got blown away. And its possibly going to snow on the mountains tonight

Those SST charts are very interesting - they do show quite a difference from last year. SteveB where did you get the charts - i'd like to look at them in more detail if possible.

coldest night of the winter last night reaching -8.4C, blue sky and no clouds at the moment with a temp of -3.5C, pressure 1001.4 and 3km/h SE wind.
a dusting of snow
