  1. I have just returned from the most lovely walk with the dogs over my local country park. Wonderful sunshine and wispy cirrus clouds. Felt very springlike. Mind you, had to wade through gloopy, sticky mud and waterlogged fields, but it was worth it.
  2. Good morning lovely peeps, I have clear blue skies (For now anyway) Will run the dogs over to the park before the weather changes. Happy Monday all
  3. Not a flake, not even any graupel I think that all of our expectations are somewhat heightened by previous years of the white stuff. Feeling very cheated though
  4. Aren't you all lovely x Weather has badly deteriorated from the lovely sunshine that greeted me this morning. Hints of easterlies, but nothing as yet. Shame. I think February could well deliver
  5. Hello everyone, Had a very rough few months, but getting better now. Bright and frosty start to the day this morning. Lovely to see the sunshine again today
  6. Hi all, My son's boss has just phoned him and told him he has to go to work tomorrow (Ben is doing Roofing!) I'm not letting him out of the front door!! Jay on BBC saying Amber warning may well be upgraded. Describing it as "a serious storm"
  7. London & The South East Weather Liked · 6 minutes ago Here is a recent image of the developing storm in the Atlantic. The line of cloud is following the jet stream but the part that is of most interest to us is inside the yellow circle. The line of cloud is now starting to develop due to fast tracking Jet Stream. To the south of that circle will start to pull towards right, whilst to the north of that circle will pull towards the left, eventually causing an anti-clockwise spiral like the system inside the red circle. It's how this system develops in the next 24-36 hours which will determine how bad things will get on Monday. 8. Hi Tams, Yes I'm fine thanks . Deary me! Those Isobars look positively evil, especially GFS! x
  9. Thank you so much to Tamara and John and MKSA, You three have really helped me to learn a lot regarding this upcoming storm I don't think any of us can really fully see what will happen till it arrives. Having lived through '87, I give full respect to Mother Nature, she can definitely throw unexpected surprises!
  10. Good afternoon all. Lovely sunny day here today, but the calm before the storm indeed. Will be sorting out the back garden today and storing stuff in the shed. (As long as the shed doesn't get battered of course)
  11. Hello all, I've gone from really lively showers to a beautiful, breezy blue sky warm afternoon. Interesting weather ahead but too soon to call atm. I hope if this system explodes everyone stays safe
  12. Good morning, Rain, rain rain again. Yes BJK, my garden is growing again, nature is a wee bit confused I think. It's bypassed winter and thinks its spring! Have a dry day everyone...if you can
  13. Hi Tom, Very well thanks. Just gutted that this mild and rainy weather means yet more grass cutting. Can I have Eric back please? Hi Leanne, I hope that you and your daughter feel better soon x
  14. Hello everyone, Very grey and rainy morning turned into a brighter, non-descriptive warmish afternoon. Still pleasant though. Happy birthday to you Steve and Tom
  15. Afternoon all, After a grey and dismal morning, the skies have brightened with sunshine showing itself occasionally. The calm before the downpour
  16. Hi all, Definitely a most Autumnal feel to the weather today. As you said AS,there is a big leaf fall today. Reminds me of childhood, crunching through the frosty fallen leaves. Watch out for hedgehogs and rescue them if they're silly enough to hibernate in leaf falls
  17. Good morning all, I have blue sky!..........Marvelous. Yes, yes i shall make the most of it. Taking dogs to country park, might even take a picnic Surrey, I hope your girlfriend is ok, I'm sure she will be. Seizures are very treatable in this day and age. I will be thinking of you x
  18. Afternoon all, Been a bit of a non-descript, boring day today. The cloud has rarely lifted, but it feels humid and is completely windless. Welcome back Kate.
  19. Hello Yamkin, you lovely person you! Any pearls of wisdom for us SE'ers?
  20. Just back from Jubilee Country Park with the dogs. such a glorious afternoon. Blackberry bushes still bursting with fruit, and birds singing their little socks off. Feeling warm too.....
  21. Hello Reef, Yes very familiar indeed unfortunately! Ben, my son is 19 now though............when will it end???????
  22. Hi Tams, I totally agree with you. It's far too early for cold incursions with any meaning. Get the building blocks in their proper place first....let's enjoy Autumn x
