kaddy is certain the front will hit east kent over night so all not lost!!!
at least ill get to the pub safely later!!!
-
kaddy is now worried she might have spoken to early about us in east kent.....
-
i dont no y everyones so worried, the bands still moving east, it was always going to be there afternoon that it hit us, 2pm-3pm i reckon.
just watch the radar, its not decaying its just pivoting the a more NE movement. relax
-
its the stuff further north off the coast of EA that we need to be watching they have a much better course
-
Just on the mod thread...
Now i don`t fully understand the "2 channel low" reference, but i guess that`s good for the white stuff?
from my understanding... a channel low is a low that goes along the english channel keeping us on the cold side of the low

the meto forecast nearly changes as much as the models at the moment.
but tbh no matter how much computing power these models have, mother nature is far more powerful , and she will do as she pleases.
pleasent reading on here today, not just because of the nicer looking runs, but also because the rants had stopped
bit off topic sorry mods.

Been a lurker pretty much since 2005 but i have learnt a few things.
ive noticed over the last few years the GFS always throws outragously deep lows at us from the west, only for them to be downgraded majorly as they get closer to T0.
if this was the case again would the low undercut the high easier??
-
not that amazing really john, the GFS, for example, is nearly always wrong at 3hrs. it just illustrates my point earlier- ignore the models, watch the radar and the lamp-posts!
the GFS is run at a lower res at that range, thats why it can be wrong, the NAE is a higher res short range model

coming down nicely now... 2p size flakes... is this really going to keep going til 9ish, if so will be the highest total i can ever remember.. snow on the road is nearly level with the pathment now!!
-
20p flakes now, and heavy-ish... it nearly level on the road to the path... couple more hours of this and ill be happy!
-
moderate 5p flakes falling in canterbury, not as much as i was expecting, but its nice to have some snowfall to stop a snowless winter!!
maybe 2 cms here at most!!
-
well im happy knowing im not the oldest here
-
can i ask peoples ages.... just wondering if im ever going to grow out of lamp post watching!! lol
-
Still no snow showers
Sigh
victor... is your picture in sturry church yard?... just looks very familar
-
althought its been snowing quite a bit here... the snow totals have slighty gone down because of the slight thaw...
-
snowing again here in canterbury, not much but its being driven by this strong wind!!
-
any reports of lighting stikes off the northeast kent coast... just popped out to the car and saw a few flash.... might have been the trains mind!!
id say we've had another 1-2 inches here east of canterbury!!
-
any got any figures of upper temps at the mo... the showers we are having are very sleety at the mo!!!
-
where abouts are you exactly?...i was really surprised how much we've had and it must have been fairly recent as it has covered up hubby's car tracks and he left for work at about 6.30am
im only in sturry which makes it even more surpising, few more miles east i wouldnt be to shocked to find out they have had no more !!!
-
Well I wasn't expecting that!!....a lovely 3-4 inches of fresh snow overnight and it's snowing again
thats so localised bacause nothing more then a dusting to the east of canterbury
-
well just had another moderate snow shower stopped now
glad to see this low moving away now tbh... thing thats the main reason the temps have risen...
lets get the ne winds in and get the temps back down!!
-
well just outside canterbury in sturry, we have moderate snow.... dunno what all the fuss is about lol!!
