    It's so humid! Lots of towering clouds floating past.... If ever I thought there might be a storm it's today, I would love to see some nighttime lightening. Any thoughts?

    Power cut for about 10 mins in Dl5 - there was a bright flash of lightening. Seemed to die after that. Hopeful for more to come. :-) makes a nice change to have some exciting weather for a change!

    Electricity went off for about 10 mins after some cg lightening. It's gone very quiet....

    Very bright lightening right overhead - long low rumble of thunder. Heavy rain has tailed off but I get the feeling it's just taking a breath lol

    One rumble here in Aycliffe, haven't seen any lightening yet. Would certainly be nice to have a decent thunder storm but I have a feeling we are going to be teased with heavy showers and not much else.

    Big hail shower in Aycliffe at 4.30. Could have been some thunder but the hail was so loud I wouldn't have heard it. Seems to be brightening again. Haven't seen hail like that for a long time.

    My sister lives in carlisle and she says its torrential rain there.

    Think I should have looked at the weather forecast before booking train tickets to Edinburgh on Saturday :-/ knowing my luck this will be the one time we get pasted and all travel is cancelled lol - don't know which I'd prefer!

    Light snow falling all the way from Aycliffe to darlo. Moderate in some places. Roads are great. I quite like having snow and being able to travel easily. :-) very pretty.

    Thanks for this :-) That was my thinking - it's going to be interesting to see what happens. Hoping we might get away slightly early but chances are that the temp drop won't be noticed until it gets to dark to see. Then the fun will start!

    Can we safely now say, apart from very wet slushy roads, we won't have any problems getting back to aycliffe from darlo in rush hour tonight? Or does anyone think ice might be an issue by then? Thanks BB

    So temps of +1 to +4 being reported in Aycliffe - should I stop worrying about how ill get home from work in Darlo this evening?
