  1. Not a chance. Organisers have guaranteed the show will go on come rain or shine. After last year, they have now introduced on airfield parking and those who get diverted to the fields will be parking on temporarily laid roads.
  2. No explanation but it's definately rain in Witney which is about 4 miles East of Brize. I'll let you know as soon as I see a change in the precipitation outside of the office window.
  3. I'm working about 4 miles from Brize and it is just about sleet although mainly rain.
  4. Just tried to get to Witney from Swindon. Don't know why I bothered. Highworth looked to be impassable as it says it's high on a hill and no one was getting up it. Oh well, at least I managed to get back home. Taking an enforced holiday.
  5. Take a look at the taunton M5 206/7B camera. The police are stopping people going somewhere down that road.
  6. Snowing in Swindon. All be it light but everything that falls is settling. Temperature currently 0.3c
  7. Try googling New Orleans webcams. Some good links and live feeds http://neworleanswebsites.com/cat/en/lc/lc.html http://www.nola.com/bridgecam/index.ssf Saw periodic bright blue flashes in this one as the electric cables must have been shorting out.
  8. Thunder and Lightning going off here in Witney, Oxon right now.
  9. My sentiments exactly. I've always had a phobia of storms mainly because of the sudden, unpredicted nature of the lightning. Now i am an electrician and have been for the last 20 years i can tell you how much 240volts hurts let alone the many millions of volts in a lightning bolt. The products we make at work suffer major build ups of static amounting to thousands of volts and that can be very painfull to the unsuspecting. How some people survive direct lightning strikes must be down to pure luck or the fact the entire bolt did not pass through their body.
  10. Sure is. The brook taking the main runoff from the town centre has now burst it's banks. The councils flood protection idea of a pinch point in it to back up the water to prevent downstream flooding would have worked except the floodwater water is now going via the fields and around it. Postie has just been. I think i'll need to put the mail in the airing cupboard for an hour before attempting to open it.
  11. http://wind.met.fu-berlin.de/cgi-bin/meteo...playmode=Endlos Try this Snow Tornado
  12. Thunderstorm just flown past here in Witney, Oxon. Peak four srikes a min.
  13. Low intensity storm moving northwards through Witney, Oxfordshire at the mo.
  14. Hi Everybody, Does anyone have any links to updating, animated satellite images of this region. This looks really interesting to watch. Thanks. Darren
  15. Thats just what the sky looked like from my back garden in Swindon at about 1 o'clock on Saturday. Pitch black with like a rolling layer of lower cloud. Garden furniture went flying and rain like i've never seen before. Judging by the sheets of rain that went past my window i would estimate about 40 mph gusts.
  16. Swindon is the place to be at the minute. Cracking storm as i write. Any floods over your way yet AL.
  17. Been thundering in Swindon since it woke me up at 4.15 this morning
