  1. On the weather forecasts this PPN was shown as being heavy snow over southern Ireland but according to the netweather radar it is rain I guess the interaction is going to occur further north and east?
  2. Just popped outside to clear the snow off my conservatory roof and it is cold already and the wind doesn't help. Gonna be chaos in the morning on the side roads/pavements as the slight thaw means there will be ice underneath the snow.
  3. snowing again in Gloucester. Think it's from that band which has moved down from the north.
  4. You are in the band of light snow which looks like it may last for a while. The heavy stuff is south of you That's the band of snow I mentioned earlier. seems to be pepping up too.
  5. I notice a band of snow moving south west from the north east. Is this likely to give more snow to the midlands and sw later. It seems to be pepping up as well!
  6. Thanks for the update Ian, I guess you may share with us the outcome of the conference call?
  7. Took over an hour to get home from Chelt to Glos. Reminds me of that Thundersnow event we had a few years back. Snowing again in Gloucester. Reckon the snow tonight will miss us but the roads will be a mare in the morning. Careful out there!
  8. Is the band of Rain just nudging into north wales supposed to be the one to look out for for North Glos?
  9. Be Patient. This is not the main event! The warning was always looking to the Wiltshire/Dorset area for highest snowfall. We in Glos are still looking for a fair amount but just not "very heavy snowfall"
  10. no details as yet but Glos not included Edit: There is a high risk of an extreme weather event affecting parts of Southern England this evening and overnight. A period of exceptionally heavy snowfall is expected with accumulations of 15-30 cm and perhaps in excess of 40 cm. This is expected to cause widespread disruption to the transport network and could lead to problems with power supplies. The public are advised to take extreme care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.
