    I was very surprised yesterday morning. Excellent snow showers that covered everything - unfortunately it turned sleety in the afternoon, so most of it melted. Very cold this morning.

    got a dusting here now. Unexpected to be honest. looks like there could be more tomorrow evening?

    Just subscribed to the radar - and it works well! Managed to pin point this shower. Its snowing in Derby now :-)

    Went up to Buxton in the peak district today - they have snow there! Some snow/sleet showers too. On lower ground in places such as Bakewell, all there was was rain! Currently raining here in Derby - temp 2.7C! I thought it would be colder by now!

    At least the temp is dropping now. Maybe a bit of snow later, you never know. If not at least it looks cold for the next few days, with the possibility of some snow potential.

    temp gone down to 2.2C now! Dropped quite quickly after steadily rising for the last few hours.

    Something falling out of the sky here. Very light tho, so light, its hard to tell what it is!

    Im here in Derby. No precipyet. Had some earlier in eve - rain. Think this band will miss here tonight. Still have a slight covering of snow/ice in places. Was melting this afternoon though.

    Looks to miss Derby looking at that. Bah humbug. Can't complain about the weather really though, its been cold, and ive seen some snow! Merry Christmas everyone.

    Cloud building a bit here in Derby. Missed the main band of snow though :-( Theres always another day! Had a few flurries last night, leaving an icing sugar type covering.

    Most of the snow gone here now. Some left on sheltered parts of the lawn and a drift by the greenhouse!

    temp 1.9C in Derby, dew point 1.7C. Both starting to drop now. Some drizzle about. I wonder if there will be any heavier bursts of precipitation later, or if it will pass to the south.

    A covering of snow in Derby this morning. Looks like there could be a good dumping of snow here this evening too :lol: May start off as rain though, depending when it arrives. It has currently gone a little foggy! If this continues, it should keep things more favourable for snow (keep temp, dew point? down? Current dew point in -0.5C and temp is 0.1C.

    Snowing quite heavily here now (Derby). Pavements and the side roads now begining to cover over. already a layer on cars and grass.

    must have had a flurry or two here as theres fresh snow on the cars.

    Same here. Not expecting much if anything here. Can't grumble though as todays weather has been fantastic, surpassed Mondays event. Outlook suggests staying cold too, with good potential for more snow throughout the month.

    Plenty to keep an eye on then! I suppose ice poses more of a risk than falling snow now, and that must be why the schools are closed tomorrow. When are any showers likely to hit Derby tonight?
