    Well up in my high level blacked out control room all I can hear is the rain lashing the windows,the whole building is creaking with the gusts,I have just called an ac engineer down off the roof as its too dangerous to carry on working on one of our chillers,glad my job is not hands on any more lol.

    We spoke quite a lot during those sad times,it does get easier with time but that does not mean we have forgotten, hope all you said you would do you managed to get done. Took me 2 years to finally get the nerve up to scatter my dads ashes where he wanted but all of a sudden I just felt it was right and did it. Felt so much better. All the best Chris

    On a lighter note....drove into work tonight with the sun visor down and shades on!!!! not done that since early October...Must of looked stupid to the drivers coming the other way with headlights on lol. The sun was so bright.!!!!

    Damp/wet drive to London this morning and the low temp alarm came on at 4c for the first time for weeks!!

    Hi Jenny Tescos do large 5litre bottles that keep for months,I buy them when I go carp fishing and have 2 or 3 in the shed, I only just thought how handy they may be if the water goes off (pumping stations flooded etc). Keep well and safe. Chris

    Just got back from my birthday meal,talk about the calm before the storm!!!!! Very quiet out there.My weekend off so don't have to drive in it for a change,got a very long week next week 3 x 15 hour days and 4 x 15 hour nights so I am likely to be driving through a storm a few times next week John do you have any idea about next weeks weather? Chris

    I think nowadays strikes are to protest at reductions in benefits or jobs and not for pay rises etc.Most people would want to keep what they get and would protest if it was being taken away. Just my view having been made redundant 2 years ago. Anyway back to the weather...... wind seems to be at a constant drone outside. It must be very strange this winter not getting a chance for more of your super dooper ramps..... I hope you get a chance soon.

    Hi I bet that was a lovely sight,alot of birds of prey suffer greatly when it rains alot as their prey does not venture out plus due to heavy rain their hearing/location finding is very restricted.

    Its good that things are picking up, I am now getting jobs come through from the agency's on a daily basis which offers hope of getting one closer to home,its not easy finding a job similar to what I had been doing for 13 years and only 20 mins drive away (plus well paid),so for now will continue with the 120 mile a day drive and £10000 drop in wages.Its what happens when you worked for the biggest employer in east Kent and they decide to pull out of its uk main research and manufacturing site.There was such a good skilled work force within the engineering side which had been hand picked the best people from the area.Very sad.Weather related.... my drive in this morning was the first dry one for ages with gritters out doing the M2.

    I have 27 48inch screens to monitor plus I have one as a telly with BBC weather on plus the network pc is on one and I have my laptop with skygo on and I still get bored lol,be ok if it was at home but all night at work with a long drive in the morning and no chance of a nap or a break makes you tired,hard work doing nothing lol.

    I thought it was part of this forums expected winter time activities lol. Shows real dedication, just hope you/we have something to see. I have a mum in law that needs almost constant attention so know how that goes although she is still in her house round the corner with people popping in all the time!!

    Decided to do the oil &water thing due to my long commute's,cold windy but dry,thought I would be good and check other halfs,now raining hard and guess what,bonnet would not release!#! So half hour later get it open.Soaking wet and cold.
