The models have downgraded the warmth quite significantly. Rather than coming from ridges and approaching +15C in the upper atmosphere, the warmth is now associated with warm fronts and low pressure which will in the main provide cloud and high minima.

The models are strugling with Hurricane Katia as it has strengthened more than predicted and is a FISH.

Sorry, but " FISH". What does this mean? apart from the freshwater type. Cheers

It just means that she is staying out at sea , not making landfall!

  2. Should be touching down here shortly. Although not thundery,,, I welcome the rain... I also personaly like to watch the cloud formations as such a front approaches. This is,, as I understand, an unusualy deep low pressure system approaching our shores for this time of year. Lets take it as it comes as you can't do anything about it, so just watch and admire the beauty that is nature... I love thunderstorms, which is the main reason I joined this site,,, but at the end of the day, weather is weather,,, very unpredictable. I'd love a thunderstorm as much as the next person, but as nature is..... Wait you turn.... Oh yeah by the way NO storms since 2009..

Estofex have u in their 15% window , so you could have a couple of bangs , but i wouldnt like to be at the Isle Of Wight Festival camping today! :help:

  3. Some nice looking returns coming from Deal, Kent on radar - must be quite a bit of hail falling in that storm. Could only dream of radar echoes of that intensity to affect here - getting used to see showers/storms die as they see Birmingham on the horizon.

Spot on weather09 , great storm just passed thru here , rumbling on still , masses of hail and rain , roads flooded and come thru the tarmac. Great storm best in ages!!! :drinks:
