  1. thanks coast, i know they are only a very rough guide but it gives hope
  2. i dont know whereabouts in east kent, must have been localised as we here in ramsgate had snow grains
  3. if i am reading the radar correct (noob alert!) it seems that there is nothing heading of the coast towards east kent for the timebeing
  4. lets hope they run out of green ink! as thanet is not coloured in on that snowfall chart
  5. very heavy snow grains now , enough to have covered our shed roof with a very thin layer edit....easing off now
  6. bingo!!!! we have snow grains falling in thanet (quite heavy as itype this)
  7. where is GP just when he is needed on the model thread , I havent seen any of his posts for a few days now (unless i have missed them) to see what his latest thoughts are with all this uncertainty
  8. our local B&Q store has a pallet full of sledges and snow shovels, I suppose they wont be selling now as we seem to be running out cold options for snow especially down here in the south east !!
  9. perhaps not the right thread but.....as I am somebody who gets easily confused with all the info availiable, does anybody think that GPs forecast for this winter has gone down the pan (I hope not), as that was my lifeline, perhaps somebody can throw me straw to clutch
  10. surely snowcon10 should be next to snowcon8 and renumbered as transport allways seems to suffer at the first sign of snow planet thanet
  11. We have daffs out, a rose bush not only has buds on it but also one has opened out and is in flower, the birds are singing at 4am in the mornings and just the other day I saw a bumble bee on a weed trying to get nectar (spring is here or so the animals and flowers think) planet thanet
  12. we are still picking our tomatoes from the garden and the roses have new buds on them !!
  13. Hi there Why is it that a lot of the stores ie....B&Q ETC are well stocked on winter essentials like snow shovels, salt, de-icing fluid and loads of sledges when the general concensus seems to be that these items will not be needed (if at all ) untill after december.I was under the impression that these major outlets paid for an advanced forecast, if that is so then surely they should ask for the money back.
  14. I think MBs motives, whatever they are, whether he is doing it as a learning process, some kind of capital gain as some think or being silly, he should not be ridiculed. If you dont agree or think its down right daft you have the option of not reading the thread after all there are plenty of other threads availiable and with all due respect I believe a lot of people on here seem to be "ganging up on him".He is not forcing his ideas on anybody.
  15. lost all hope of snow here in thanet now, it keeps being promised but then being taken away from us by the north westerley wind
  16. Dear All I dont often post on here but after reading about the gulf stream etc I googled "golf stream die" and although there were some unrelated sites there were two sites that were very interesting, one being dated on the 2/9/2010 putting forward a good case for all the weather changes in the world and attributing this to the dying gulf stream. I am sorry that I cant post the link because I dont really know how to, just do as I did and google...golf stream die.
  17. We have been harvesting our garden blackberries for the last three weeks down here in the south east and yes it is a bumper harvest
  18. Down here at Ramsgate we have a snow shower passing through (very light snow grains)
  19. Hi there My weather station down here in ramsgate is showing -0.7c, with a windchill of -4c, unfortunately my dewpoint reading has packed up and we must have aprox 25-30mm snow
  20. that was good , all we had was normal weather (boring) of blue sky, sunshine and dry all day
  21. please dont ever let this thread degenerate down to the level of the model thread.
