Actually we have just had a snow shower, so rain earlier, then snow.

As expected, it rained here a few minutes ago.

my dew point is above freezing so I think we will get sleet at best should we get any showers. No frost last night as temps remained above freezing. It did snow in the evening but obviously nothing settled. Not moaning though as it did exactly what was forecast. My phone app says rain today.

Seriously? It has been snowing here on and off for an hour or so. Not that is has settled. edited to say it has stopped now!

We had loads, absolute masses of the stuff. I think we measured 14 inches level snow in our garden.

to show the difference that elevation makes, we have a temp of 2.7 and dp of 0.1 so very VERY marginal here.

I don't agree, precipitation may well stall and intensify, that was the expectation. I don't think you need to worry about amounts, start by worrying if it will be snow or rain!

Steve, can I ask if you think it will be snow at lower levels like here should anything fall or are we too marginal?

Yes I agree, I find we tend to get rain or sleet in marginal situations.

I do think higher areas will see snow. I don't think my area will see anything though so would advise caution so as to not be disappointed!

Oh dear. I suspected this would end up a damp squib and it seems that is exactly how it will turn out.

I'm another who currently thinks that (in my location) we are looking at rain and sleet.
