A final few flurries of snow in darlo to signify the end of our cold spell. A spell which I would rate as 5/10 just for the lack of snow, which has been very frustrating. If we'd had just 2 inches and clear roads I would have rated this spell as a 9/10. We had everything especially freezing fog which i love alongside snow as everything looks so white. So a solid 5/10 for me.

That shower heading towards darlo from Peterlee looks to be dying out as it moves further inland
Yeah seems to be fragmenting as it gets further inland. Sunny in darlo now

Still a lot of blue sky in darlo atm thought it might have started by now. At least I've seen some snow blowing about so can't grumble.

Wall to wall sunshine here in darlo. Can see a few clouds on the horizon. Just too far west I'm afraid. I expect nothing.

Darlo is not going to have any luck today I'm sure of it.

Pfffttt pathetic mostly dissolves when it hits land. The search for snow in darlo continues.

Teesside could be the sweet spot here, darlo once again looks just to miss out.

If the showers do make it far enough south for the snow starved Tees Valley i think we are looking at about 9.30. So are we in a more northerly/nor easter atm? Looks that way. Just goes to prove if our region wants anything we need an easterly element to the wind. Fingers crossed for everyone today

Well could see some snow today according to my app lol so probably won't happen. Although radar doesn't look to bad to be fair.

Any chance for darlo?

I do hope this warning area extends a little further west so we can all have at least a covering, Can see this being a very frustrating time for myself and the Darlington crew. Just a couple of cm will do lol.
Yep I'm darlo and it will be hard to take when we miss out by a few miles

Looks like it might miss darlo. There's a one heading into Chester le street now. I'm currently at work in Durham and there's a covering here
Looks like you are right mate I think it's going to hit Newton aycliffe just to the north of darlo....damn it (again). All I want is a couple of centimetres to make things look festive. A bit of snow and freezing fog is my fav type of weather. Makes everything look white.

This winter hasn't been too bad so far if memory serves darlo hasn't had much snow but the bit we had in December stuck for about 8 days. We had some a few days ago and we've had impressive amounts of frost some ice days and freezing fog. I'm 47 and remember the winters of the late 90s and early 00s. One winter I remember we had 30mins of sleet and that was it. It really hasn't been too bad if you look back.
