  2. You could report it to the BTO but I would say it's an escaped homing pigeon.

  5. Maplin sell the type of lead and you will need a crossover connector not a straight one. As Coast says there is no protection on the sensor.
  6. Got another 5cm of snow. Now turned to sleet and drizzle rain. No sign of a thaw yet.
  7. Still moderate to heavy snow. 2-3 cms so far with more to come looking at radar. Temp. 0.5 Dewpoint. -1.6
  8. Edit. Turned back to snow now. Temp 1.4c Dewpoint. -2.6
  9. Light to Moderate snow for a while. Turned a bit sleety at the moment.
  10. It needs to be away from direct and convected heat such as a fence. I think in the instructions it gives you the approx height to mount it.
  11. I can suggest a couple of things that will have a bearing on your windspeed. The roof angles will give updraughts maybe causing the annanometer to slow. The met probably get their windspeed from the top of a tall building so the height variance will make a difference. One thing you could try is using the cable to connect to base station and see if that changes the readings. Can't think of anything else but hope that helps you.
  12. Rain turning to sleet and big snow flakes thrown in. Temp 1.4. -0.5ph Dewpoint. 0.2 Pressure. 984mb Falling quickly. Wind. East. Gust 15mph
  13. Moderate snow now after half an hour or so of sleet.
  14. An addition to what Paul said if you have an ad blocker you may need to turn it off to view the video.
  15. Good and informative video. I did have a few problems viewing it and had to restart 3 times before I got to the end.
  16. Snow has finally stopped within the last half hour. Another 1.5 inches at a guess. If it freezes tonight it's going to be great fun.
  17. I'm surprised that the snow is getting heavier again after nearly stopping. Dew point 0.0 Temp 0.6. Must be up to 4 inches now with some deeper drifts.
