  1. Summer '21 has not been one for the memory banks, being neither hot, sunny or wet but rather just meh most of the time. I'm going to give it a 4 or 5 out of 10 as its been way too cloudy, but on the flip side not much rain, so I have still been able to get outside and do things..a season of usable weather if nothing else!
  2. back to the cool cloudy dross today, flipping back and forth sums up this week perfectly ?
  3. Yesterday was a cool cloudy dross day, today bang opposite, warm and sunny...
  4. The forecast all week has highlighted today as the day we would be plagued by cloud...its actually as sunny today as it was monday...tuesday and wednesday were the poor days!
  5. Its been disappointingly rubbish today, cloudy with a cool wind. I dont ever really expect much from August but this year has proved particularly carp so far.
  6. Well certainly not a cold start around here...pre work walk in shorts and t-shirt again, and a nice bit of sun to go with it.
  7. Still shorts and t-shirt here, but definitely feeling more Septemberish than mid summer today
  8. This last hour of work is going to be tough, getting very warm now even with windows open in a futile attempt to create a through draft! Also noticed the Liverpool airport temp - 38C, seems a little off the mark...
  9. For my neck of the woods this summer hasnt been brilliant but nor has it been a shocker. I am an outdoorsy person and for the most part I have been able to do what I have wanted to without too much bother. So whilst the weather hasnt been a classic, it's been OK most of the time, and I have still been in shorts and t-shirt combo the majority of the days just occassionally requiring a hoodie. I'll will give the summer up to this point a mediocre 5/10, its not likely to live long in the memory banks...
  10. Everytime the sun threatens to break though the cloud rolls back in...so frustrating. Last night felt very much more like late september early October in terms of dullness
  11. I'd recommend travelling outside of Kent, the UK has some fantastic landscapes especially the further West and North you head. Also I think New Zealand has got a pretty decent climate, certainly compared to here... Going back to today, the sun is breaking through finally after some particularly gloomy days
  12. Lovely sunny and surprisingly warm start to the day. It was very pleasant on my pre work walk across the fields, if the rest of summer looks like this that would do me
  13. A brilliantly sunny day, and the temperatures are responding nicely. Just popped out in the car and was reading 20C
  14. I cant help but laugh reading through this thread, you would think half of us live in one country and half somewhere completly different! Its certainly not multiple layers and gloves day, especially if you are out exercising...its lovely and warm out - just have to dodge those beefy showers...
  15. Just had a sharp downpour which was accompanied with a few rumbles of thunder, sun back out again now and some impressive cloudscapes
  16. So far today is following yesterday... sunny spells but dry. Yesterday there were a few spots in the wind by late afternoon, but nothing else of note, so will we miss the showers today?
  17. That is interesting, recent Augusts certainly feel like they have been poor but evidently not that poor...
  18. Im assuming most of those August wins are from the 90s, as the last 10-15yrs, August has been a pretty poor month most of the time.
  19. Currently a steady, but not overly heavy, spell of rain. At least I wont have to water the plants I guess.
  20. Another fine and sunny / mostly sunny day again, the breeze does feel a little chillier however than earlier in the week.
