  1. They never get stop having too much severe storms. Even this is much needed proof of Northern Rivers is the place in Australia you see the most severe storms such as supercells and tornadoes. BTW theres a tornado on 3rd picture of my latest report above.
  2. Haha thanks. These people on this forums should pay more attention in here. Certainly we having large number of supercells reported so far in 3 months of this season here in world. Nice hot, humid, moisty partly to cloudy days with some scattering severe storms with heavy rain and squalls. Possible cyclone gonna form in Gulf then will recurve towards the eastern coast reforming as a cyclone. This will drag the monsoonal trough very far south as expected!
  3. http://www.weatherzone.com.au/models/index...68&focus=mh Another 1 on other side?
  4. Wednesday 24th December 2008 Violent supercells produce large hail, damaging wind gusts and flash flooding and possible tornado. Since the day wasn’t fair for potentially severe storms after the stalling of southerly change about midday just around Grafton. Then severe thunderstorms formed on Dorrigo Plateau and helped the southerly change to ride with it to make them more severe. Few cells became very dangerous including Kyogle twice, Lismore and here. Around 4pm I went down to river watched massive supercell filling the sky green and brown. Very dangerous low based RFB cloud was on highway somewhere between Ballina and Wardell and I spotted a short lived tornado. Then it quickly dies out as other convergence disturbing the convection and it became less severe for us. Lismore and Kyogle had the most action as new development area became severe. Hail, wind and rain reported usually out of these thunderstorms. Today action was one of the most severe since last month when we had most rain and squalls.
  5. Nice cells firing up very good and healthy on radar. Skies and conditions are very perfect for severe storms!! Bring it on!
  6. Yea he redeveloped into Cat 1 cyclone now and heading into 30 degrees warm waters! That gulfie low now became a landphoon monsoonal low now and theres another low formed near the Cape York which have greater potential for form a tropical cyclone. Very mild conditions today with max of 25 degrees. Showers and storms from xmas eve onwards now.
  7. Had nasty monsoonal like squally thunderstorm on Thursday. Scored 80km/hr gusts and over 10mm of rain in short time. Large hail reported and lightning strikes reported. Saw some close flangs!!!! Gust front was so eerie and creepy scary. Monsoonal conditions has started in northern country. Dumping alot of rain and squalls up to 140km/hr. There was a cyclone in northwest but expecting to be redevelop after hitting the land as comes back into the water. Another one but two cyclones may form during xmas/new year period. This helps from the monsoonal trough. La nina has deepen.
  8. Hot dry gusty NW lies here today with max of 31 and min of 23. Storms would be bak later this week.
  9. Hey yea i heard about that. I might go to JCU Townsville next Feb so yea hehe. Ballina had wild storms last night with good cgs galore, 33mm of rain. Got hit by twice within an hour!!! Its freaky awesome! This arvo Ballina has continued on their domination of severe storms. Nice lightning and plenty of rain! Up to 20mm now.
  10. Insane storms continued over night and this morning. Had over 44mm and still counting as another storm coming in. It fairly high based which is good for cgs!!!! Jeeze this cells are insanely heavy!!!! Bring it on some more!!! One of them having some good squalls like 35-40knots which is a little freaky!
  11. Jealously again hehe News article on Wednesday's violent storms http://www.northernstar.com.au/story/2008/...rm-hits-region/ More severe storms again today. Some chances are likely to produce one or few violent supercells due to strong uppers and plenty moisture in lowers.
  12. Wednesday 3rd December 2008 Violent storms produce lightning galore It was a very hot and humid day with nice north to northeast winds tending to seabreezes early in afternoon. First storms produced in southwest of Tenterfield about 2pm. Temperatures and humidity was high most of day maxed out 32/23 feels like 36. Thunderstorms became severe about 3pm and firing up through Grafton and Yamba areas dropped out 2cm hailstones and generally mild lightning storms. After 4pm, thunderstorms in our southwest became more severe and producing lightning galore. Most strikes up twice a second with maximum of 6 strikes at once! So once time we went to river at Ramada Hotel with Dylan watched the storms to come through. I took the first photo of lightning next to Ramada. Once new towers and RFB’s forming closer to us now produce some freaky lightning bolts! At this period of time it was hardest to take photos of them. Once the storms coming through us, had moderate to heavy rainfalls with good solid lightning show. Then new cell comes after with lightning galore as the beast of the day! This cell was insane and most severe of the day. I recall this was a supercell. It produced hail and damaging wind gusts in Lismore and Bangalow areas. We had a super excellent vantage point seeing lightning strikes on backend of this large dangerous thunderstorm. We had over 7mm of rain with max wind gust of 70km/hr from northwest from the large thunderstorm in the end.
  13. Those cells in west going so crazy. Fast developing ones straight to be severe. So unbelievable set up!
  14. Have a photo here aswell but will put it up soon. It way completely different to England though. It made a ...........(answer will come as pics shows)
  15. For tomorrow Shear looking great enough for them to move! Instability looking okish on Thursday and Friday to me but shear is best key.
  16. Ok guys this storm was weird. It have wind direction from the northwest then turned several times from the southwest. It had some bursts of strong gusts, estimated around 70km/hr with good heavy localized rainfalls. Scored a nice 12mm out of this one. Temperature finally dropped off the mark from last night min temperature. Pictures aren't that spectacular from 20th of this month. Very much ending to November storms now. Next will be Wednesday, the first storm day for December. Still very warm to hot humid days though.
  17. Oh jeeze the rains this morning didn't let the temperature down! Was min of 23 degrees. Now its 25.8/24.4 feels like 29.7!!! So sickening hot and humid morning. Its overcast and it still wanted to get very hot and muggy. Nice storms at Tenterfield at the moment but expecting to see more during afternoon. Possibly severe with rain and wind. Not sure about hail coz its tooo moisty.
  18. LOL sorry!! ^^^ Looking good for stormies today across the region. Nice cells firing up across our ranges especially on far west and northwest. However these storms can be severe for flash flooding and damaging wind gusts. Currently its 28.4/22.1 feels like 31.3 here atm which is breaking up the cap simply and create good generation of thunderstorms to fire up. Bring it on today and hopefully more tomorrow!
  19. Stormy here today. STW should be up for cells down south moving up northwards. Might get a storm or two this evening.
  20. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated showers. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. Lismore: Mostly fine. Min: 15 Max: 26 Forecast for Wednesday Scattered showers and thunderstorms. North to northeast winds. Lismore: Few showers, chance thunderstorms. Min: 17 Max: 25 Forecast for Thursday Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. North to northeast winds. Lismore: Few showers. Chance thunderstorm. Min: 17 Max: 30 Yay! Only showers for my year 12 formal on Tuesday evening at Ballina RSL Club. Thank god storms on day after onwards. I don't understand Lismore's forecast saying mostly fine when forecasted regionally 'isolated showers' lol. Looks like more storms outbreak from Wednesday is on cards! Bring it some more!
  21. Thanks! Wonder why no one else reply? Isn't anyone else jealous!? We ended up having hottest day since February at 32 degrees under very hot gusty NW lies. Was 30 degrees after sunset! That was very hot! Temperature cooled down this morning at 12 degrees which is coolest since September. Looks like another severe storms outbreak for Northern NSW and SEQLD again from Wednesday. Temperatures would certainly kick into 30's again for most of areas with high dewpoints into low to mid 20's. A little bit early at this stage.
  22. Thursday 20th November 2008 HP Mesocyclone produce severe winds A very warm and humid partly cloudy condition has settled into early afternoon to help the cap to break. Firstly a nice cell hits Evans Head firstly, and then came for second and third time! Eventually severe storms developed from the far west coming over the region. I never have seen a lot of series of rotations around! A new explosive thunderstorm formed from across the river to form the line from its north. Around 6:30pm, a large mesocyclonic gust front developed from southwest of Ballina after the notice of large green tinge in clouds for first 30mins. The base of mesocyclone appears over the town. Dylan and I went to the Missingham Bridge to watch the storm coming through. At the time lightning was so intense and frequent! We took few photos of this nasty pulsating cgs mesocyclone gust front. Then we rushed back to home before hail, a lot of drivers around went mad! They were also rushing. Eventually the storm hit us around 7pm with gale to storm force wind gusts over 100-110km/hr. Few gusts were stronger and hard to estimate due to microbursts, small hail fell. But not enough to see them at least we heard them tinkling on the windows. This severe storm was best one since last month. It was a High Precipitation supercell. Recorded a lovely 25.5mm of rain. There were tree damage along our street and also major out in other parts of Ballina. Enjoy!
  23. Getting more interesting now!! Casino cell is in our direction atm but lets hope to stay alive for our first present of the day until mass of severe storms from Goodiwindi areas.
  24. Quite amazing to wake up a new day with STW out for Upper Western NSW and far Western Qld. Nice early rain cleared but still cloudy, heres hoping for clouds to clear sometime during the day. Howevere the temperature and dewpoints are skyrocketing anyways. Currently 22.2/21.2. Heres the stormcast for today at 4pm. it looking good for us today especially in Northern Rivers due to cooler uppers that can lead for large hailstones. So bring it on day one!
