  1. Hi all, 2 weeks to go - can't wait to get going, I am ridiculously excited I have packed and repacked a couple of times - just need to get my insurance and then I am done (I think!) Thanks for the info about Direct Line, I'll give them a call. See you in the airport/plane/US!! Tammy
  2. I also don't have a lot of technology with me, mostly MP3, camera and mobile my packing pile is coming along nicely and is starting to take over the spare room!! I think that the non technology recommendation from Pale Plue Sky is excellent as I suspect I will be returning alot heavier than when I leave I don't mind being the only girl on the tour, eveyone has been so friendly - just looking forward to putting names to faces!! I pity my poor colleagues that have another month of me getting excited about storm chasing!! I think that they wil be glad when I actually get going! Tammy
  3. Hello dogs32 Thanks to you all for the information about insurance - I'll have a look at Go walka-bout and get it sorted out. Am I right in thinking I am the only girl on Tour 1? No bother at all if I am - just thought I would ask!! Getting ridiculously excited about Storm chasing - can't wait to get going! Tammy

  5. Currently in the middle of a blizzard and I can't see across the road the snow is that heavy!! The wind has also really picked up. My hubby is still on his way home luckily with walking boots and waterproofs - I suspect he might be abandoning car a few miles from home AS
  6. Morning all, Its snowing heavily here in Teesdale with 3.5inches of laying snow, it is also fairly windy. We're at 293m asl and have had to abandon going to work as the snow plough hasn't been through yet and the cars are just sliding around! AS
  7. Hi all!! I am Tammy aka Aunt Sally!!! I just wanted to say many thanks for the congratulations on winning the competion http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif I am soooo excited, its something I have always wanted to do but never had enough money - it really is a dream come true. Netweather were only able to get hold of me yesterday to tell me I had won as I have been in sunny France for 2 weeks, so I found out at Boulogne Docks whilst waiting for our ferry!! It was fantastic way to finish a holiday, not sure what everyone else thought with me screaming very loudly and running around. I honestly never thought I would win this competion so I am still in shock and walking around with a beaming smile on my face http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif I can't wait to to go on the Stormchase 2009 and maybe I'll see some of you on it as well. Commiserations to people who didn't win - I am really sorry. Thanks again for the congratulations. Bye for now Tammy
  8. I don't feel stupid at all!! :o But thank you anyway :o
  9. Hello, I am sorry for this basic question, but is there a a conversion from hpa to mb? My novice little weather station measures in hpa and I think that most people refer to pressure in mb. Thank you in advance Aunt Sally
  10. I think that your storm has just hit us!!! Sky is the most amazing black and the colour of the clouds are fantastic. Lightning going off all around us, and rumbles of thunder nearby, just need the rain which we can see falling in the distance AS
