  1. Not for a few hours. Everything seems to be happening painfully slow with this set up.
  2. A friend in this area just messaged me to say they’d seen marble sized hail
  3. Another day of this heat with no reward. Maybe if a few of us have a large BBQ, we can break the cap?
  4. The satellite can be good too. Especially where the storms are developing rapidly. Often show on sat before the radar shows much.
  5. Impossible to tell they are supercells from those radar or satellite images. Remember a supercell is defined as a thunderstorm with a deep rotating updraft. Unless you see an obvious hook on reflectivity (uk radar would be too distant to see this in France) or have Doppler Radar to detect the rotation
  6. Similar scenes to the pics above here in the southeast. Has been like that for the past few days however.
  7. Would only get upset about other hobbies.... Back to the topic any ideas how things might pan out tomorrow? Metoffice forecasted precip shows some heavy showers for us southerners tomorrow night starting about 10pm. Edit: not much else on other models other than gfs
  8. On the topic of disappointment, having an additive personality I have found myself in a seriously bad mood too many times when the storms or snow don’t arrive. When a hobby starts affecting your mental health it’s time to take a step back and remind yourself about what matters! Looking forward to the coming week after what has been the most boring summer in memory.
  9. Looks like a decent funnel. https://mobile.twitter.com/JonMitchellITV/status/1281641482168922112
  10. Lowish to mid level. It sort of looks like the atmosphere is a bit agitated.
  11. Just looks wrong to be a storm. Defo anoprop You can always cross compare with sat24 too. You see the cloud developing on there before the radar presents anything. Clear blue for that part now.
  12. Freak storm came without warning... Unless you looked at the radar which everyone has access to.
  13. That was supposed to be 24 hours. I think the heat has got to me!
  14. Well off topic but i just got called a tw*t on some severe weather facebook page for correcting someone on the definition of a tornado. Weird how people react to stuff! Anyway heres hoping for a storm at some point over the next two hours. I don't really like first thing in the morning set ups but ill remain open minded. Its the first time this years that its felt really sweltering.
  15. Damn it. I was hoping for a radar watching free evening. This hobby is not healthy
  16. Look up the Jarrell event, absolutely fascinating on a day of high cape and little apparent shear. In really cape showing that far in the future always gets watered down anyway. Even when it is good it’s often capped. So many pieces of the puzzle have to fit together in this country to get anything decent!
  17. Might get an odd fart before sunset but can’t see us getting anything now.
  18. So what do we reckon southeast folk? Suns out now and feeling humid again. We’ve got the whole afternoon and evening to go.
  19. This incoming rain looks as if its sparking a few more storms off!
  20. Yea, surprised given the cloud cover. Probably just the last fart for the day unfortunately.
