  1. I was out walking with my friend steph overlooking the trent valley when we heard the first rumble of thunder. The storm intensified very quickly with lightning starting to appear after the first few rumbles, steph said she thought the storm was roatating but until it got closer I couldn't be sure. I should have listened to her, as the storm got closer scud was moving up and down very quickly with one particular area roatating, it was like a meso. As the roatation moved over the wind increased violently eventually taking me off my feet. I was quite shook up to see my friend on the ground with twigs/leafs etc flying over the top of her. You can see by the trees before the storm the wind came from the south but as the roatation came over the trees swing violently to the west then the north. I had to stop filming to help my friend up, she had a bruised knee from the force of falling down but she was ok after a while. WHAT WAS THIS! could it have been a gustnado or just strong wind from the advancing storm.

Here's a video of the event (sorry about the small screen I'll put a full screen video on in the next week) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=V-8t8_jS9hM

  2. Sorry there a bit late but started back at school on Monday and haven't had time to post the pics from the storms.

Anyway,The Hail was some of the biggest I've ever seen(about 1inch in diameter) it stripped leaves from trees and left the daffodils pulverised. The lightning was impressive to but I only got one video still.

The 15th was great from 4PM till 6PM we had torrential rains with 4-5mins of snow in one of the heavier bursts. There was some flooding in the fields as the stream burst its banks and in the village puddles were creeping up to peoples doorways. But nothing severe.

Here is the video of the hail( The video's quaility is low because of the compressed youtube screen)

  3. Great shots of the cathedral its an amazing building. I used to have assembly in there every wednesday and thursday and still have to go to the services at the end of each school term. When the da-vinci code was filmed there the colours were fantastic inside but they got rid of all the decoration after the film.

  4. Sorry these are a bit late but I've been in New York since Tuesday morning so haven't been able to post the pics of the snow and cold weather.

I saw a fantastic circumzenithil arc on the 21st with the heavy showers.I also saw some great sun halos over the period.

My area saw 5-8cm in the village but on the top of the Lincoln cliff edge there was 10-15cm.That afternoon after most of the snow had melted we had a big hail shower with some more snow falling leaving a brief covering.
