    Depends how far down the valley you are. Upper reaches might have drained by the morning, but the lower ones might still be a bit on the drowned side of things.

    It did stop here at about 3, after 12 hours of non-stop rain. Yuk!!!!!

    Cloudy here, so no fog for me so far. The high RH is a pain, though. Not only does it make it feel colder than it really is, but the washing's not drying.

    Today, mostly meh, apart from a bit of blue this afternoon. Noticed when I got back this afternoon that it had rained here, but not 150 yards away. The garden - 4 inches of clay over 2 feet of gravel and another 20 feet of clay - is absolutely sodden.

    Rapidly thickening fog in the High Wycombe/Amersham area a couple of hours ago, a vague haze here in London now. Not cold in either.

    After a morning that can only be described as vile (the swear filter removes the words I'd like to use), the afternoon turned out lovely. There appears to have been a bit of flash-flooding round here given that there were bits of broken road surface from potholes strewn across the pavement in places.

    Agreed that if followed the rough timescale of previous observed cycles it should be on a downturn by now, but from that graph, it hasn't necessarily peaked yet.

    WRT Captain SW's mention of birds of prey, most likely red kites, with perhaps the odd buzzard.     It was lovely out in Kensington Gardens. The plants seem a bit confused as there were snowdrops and daisies out together in the same patch.

    That's the main forum page, accessing it from the home page. It's just taken me 9 attempts to get into the forum; each time it was saying connecting to what appeared to be advertisers servers.

    I keep only getting the top section of the forum appearing - it's been happening for a couple of days on and off. Refreshing the page sorts it out, though.

    Glorious day, and tee-shirt weather. I spent the afternoon in Kew Gardens taking photos of the few trees that were changing colour. This autumn is really late. The cirrus of doom was evident in the north-west towards the end of the afternoon.
