  1. about time for us tomorrow good old met office late to the party as usual , today not looking good as the cloud has now gone its sunny and temp now at 2*c and wind picking up
  2. yeah Ross i was prety confident we would get snow later but our temp has gone up from -1.1*c 40 mins ago to+0.7*c and all the snow we had is melting fast!even the cars that were solid with frost are clear and wet! just hoping colder air undercuts this front as it moves south fingers crossed
  3. i was up at 5.30 again today but went back to bed after doing a report just got back up signs of some heavier percipitation in the front now on the 9.45 radar on meteox
  4. morning all -4.0*c this morning and the little snow we got on thursday night is still on the ground, hada brief shower yesterday around 4pm. Just checked out the 00hrs charts and the breakdown has moved again only to before christmas now, yesterday was pointing to an extension of this cold but the ensembles back it up although fi was a outlier the control run followed it too!! still hoping we dont get sleety mush today and tomorrow and monday still look good for snow sledges looked out
  5. morning all weather station is -4.1*c at present and all the snow we got yesterday between4 and 8pm is still there looks solid!latest gfs extends the cold till the 26th with a very mild southerly breakdown after that anything after tuesday and wednesday fi at mom and ensembles looking on the colder side. looking forward to snow on saturday thru to monday and for once we are in firing line
  6. driving back from kilmarnock and it was snowing heavy ,only lying on the grass tho unexpected bonus as we were to be dry today the radar showing more showers lining up across from edinburgh in our direction temp currently 1.2 *c
  7. charts not as good this morning ensembles only averaging -5 to -10 and sea temp are still up as have had no cooling so far this winter!! admittedly all the way to christmas but i think this will be wintry/snow showers but it aint going to lie during the day especially around the coasts. hope this changes as its only one run at leat the theme is cold till after christmas

  9. first post of the 2009/10 winter ,been away down south (well midlands) but its south for me since monday and it was good to get back and see the 0600 HRS run giving a gem of and easterly from 240hrs , FI i know but there has been nothing in charts since to get excited about since last winter!

  11. on the radar the heavy precip west of islay is moving in my direction and the potential from the polar low must be increasing as it is shoving showers in from the nw at mom temp here a balmy 3.1*c
  12. not according to bbc weather at 9.27 wintry mix tomorrow from lunchtime till around midnight for ayrshire and argyll

  14. rab , heather the weather girl onbbc said aviemore didnt get above -5*c today which is a february record!
  15. hi stuart , its just stopped in Ayr and the temp has gone up to 0.3*c from 0 , been out and its melting !! 2 near the beach !!!! :lol: the radar shows this came from the nw down to us so dont know where the front is heading now or if it has stalled around central belt

  17. still snowing in Ayr heaviest all day and lying everywhere now checked the rainfall radar on met office and meteox and it doesnt show this !!!! cant complain longest snow here for years

  21. hi all , drove back from glasgow at 2.15 pm in heavy snow not lying on the roads thankfully got back to Ayr and it has snowed ever since temp dropped from 0.5*c to 0.1 in last 20 mins and snow just got a lot heavier and is lying on the wet ground where it hasnt all day , the forecast this morn said the front would come up to central scot and fizzle out , best snow we have had all winter!!!!
  22. still snowing in Ayr heaviest all day temp dropping again radar shows it to clear shortly , starting to lie on the grass again looking forward to sunday/monday for more :lol:
  23. still snowing in ayr been heavy for last 20 mins and radar looking good for later abnd seems to have stalled temp 1.5*c steady
  24. still snowing lightly in ayr ,sky gone darker again but only lying on the grass cars etc temp 0.7*c , up north (and that doesnt mean birmingham!!!!!) looks excellent if only it would come down here later
