Great isn't it!? Now 9cm level snow on our patio table. That radar sweet spot hasn't moved from over us for an hour or so now. Best snow for years!! Yayyyyy!

  2. Today should really help keep the CET suppressed if our coniditions here in South Staffs are replicated elsewhere. Currently the mean here for today should come in at around -7c, a truly remarkable figure.

What would be really interesting would be if we could go the entire month without a single daily CET exceeding 5.1c (monthly average CET for Dec). Now that WOULD be impressive!! Might be worth a flutter.

  3. I'm reasonably confident that I'll see a good spell of snow from this but I'm hoping that I don't get too much rain beforehand. My location could be quite good in this kind of setup. According to the 06z GFS by 6.00pm the precipitation should be falling as snow. Fingers crossed! The Peak District could get a pasting from this as well.

Got a nice covering of snow yesterday evening which gives me confidence that this will be just the right side of marginal.

  4. This is quite a nice little read and the image on the left is good too. Might help clear a few things up?

Well according to that map Lichfield is right in the middle of the snow region, NOT the wintry mix region so here's hoping they're right :)

Not sure I trust that though, after they forecast snow for places on Monday that ended up as rain. Fingers crossed!

  5. I take it you think the same for me in Walsall then :(:D

You are marginally further West than me and having now viewed the 06z run we both could be in with a bit of a pasting. Everything is marginally further East which can only be good for us. GFS has temps at midday of 0c so a good chance of snow. All very knife-edge however and I still expect changes even at this late stage!

It'll end up being a nowcast, with the most accurate forecast being the head out of the window. Now that I already have no nails left to bite, what next?? :D
