  1. 7th air frost of the month and currently -1.0°C. Still no clearer what it means for the forthcoming winter, but it's been great to have some settled and more seasonal weather in the run-up to Hallowe'en, rather than the mild muck and dross of some previous years. Happy Hallowe'en, Kilters.
  2. Sixth air frost of the month - that's more than double the long-term (thirty year) average for October. What does it foretell for the coming winter? Not a scooby doo. Currently -2.0°C and another cracking morning. Was very lucky indeed to have a wee trip from Dundee to Oban and back in a pal's light plane yesterday. Near perfect day for it. The country looked absolutely stunning. Some snaps attached (including Comrie and Crieff).
  3. 27.4mm of rain overnight. It's a bit damp. This August now 'nailded' on as one of the wettest I've recorded: rainfall 226% of the long-term average for the month (and there's more to come today). Roll on the frosts and snaw!
  4. Am biased but it's a bonnie spot here. Good microclimate, too - usually a little warmer/drier/sunnier than forecast in the summer and more upside in the winter for cauld and snaw generally, too. Plus, cracking dark skies for the other obsession of stargazing. Usually a smattering of bungalows on the go as well. Rightmove usually has all the current properties up for grabs. A late wee burst of summer yesterday and today. Max of 21.0°C and some decent sunshine this arvo. Looking better again tomorrow and Monday not bad, too. Last hurrah for the BBQ this weekend, methinks. Countryside beginning to tip into its early autumnal colours. Looking forward to this winter's snawchase once again.
  5. Ditto Comrie - the odd distant rumble this summer and nothing more. On the upside, we've also avoided a lot of the downpours, too, so silver linings and all that. Mind you, if it were winter and it was snow bypassing us the way the t-storms have, the dummy would be getting spat oot!
  6. Comrie July Monthly Weather Summary (long term averages in brackets) Av temp: 16.4°C (15.0°C) Max temp: 20.1°C (19.6°C) Min temp: 12.7°C (10.4°C) Monthly max: 26.3°C - 25th Monthly min: 5.3°C - 8th Rainfall: 81.0mm (66.4mm) Days of rainfall ≥ 1.0mm: 12 (10.8) Days of air frost: 0 (0) So, warmer and wetter than average, but a decent month overall, with plenty of usable summer weather.
  7. Another decent week here this week. Only a few distant rumbles of thunder in the end. Still waiting for the full on flashbangwallop. Today looking decent again once the sun breaks through. Currently 15.5°C.
  8. In the end, no more than a few rumbles of thunder here. Today feels more pleasant - less humid - and already up to 23.6°C. Bit cloudier though and the last hurrah before the weekend. And as for next week...well, the forecast can always change! In other news, a new record overnight. Met Office (@metoffice) Tweeted: It only fell to 20.9°C at Achnagart last night, breaking the Scottish record for highest minimum temperature ?️https://twitter.com/metoffice/status/1154680158105800704?s=17
  9. Warmest day of the year (so far) here today with a high of 26.3°C. Muggy but also a decent breeze this arvo. We've had the odd distant rumble of thunder over the past hour and then just in the last few mins, a couple that were appreciably louder and nearer. Bring it on! ?️
  10. A max of 24.1°C in the sunshine this arvo. Cloud now building up again and feeling muggy as we await the flashbangwallop!
  11. Warmest day of the year (so far) here today with the max topping out at 23.0C and blue skies all the way this arvo. Rinse and repeat please!
  12. Recent weather: keech and dreich sums it up. Forecast for the foreseeable looks similar. And no harm to anyone, but I'm really hoping that the NW summer long-range forecast is as far out as its first sh*te... https://www.netweather.tv/weather-forecasts/uk/long-range/seasonal
  13. Cauld, wet and dreich about covers it. Currently 5.4C/4C after an overnight low of 4.1C. At least we've (narrowly) avoided an air frost during this cauld snap. Snaw back on the hills. *sigh * If only it were January... However, it improves from Saturday onwards and next week is looking toasty and braw.
  14. Loving this settled spell. Max of 13.8C again today after a low of -2.2C. Fourth cracking day on the bounce. Snaps of the Perthshire countryside from St Fillans GC this afternoon.
