  1. Morning all.

    Update from Reading.

It's p*ssing it down. Very dark i've got the lights on.

Its like dusk outside. Had a few flashes of lightning last night but these faded quickly.

Woke up to thunder and heavy rain. So far over an inch has fallen.

Weather warnings galore for the area.

Rain became so heavy a few minutes ago that a small river appeared in the road !

Nothing electric at the moment though.

  2. Bofh, things going along fine, the key to watch is not the direction but to watch and se eif it tilts like expected, from looking at it right now that looks like its right on time which is a good thing.

Beeb have upgraded recent forecasts which obviously is a good thing for the UK, I still think ther eis a chance they will issue a emergency broadcast tonight sometime, they did it in 2005 in a less severe set-up so they may do it again, possibly, keep your eyes peeled just in case!

As Tom said the beeb forecasts show snow now on the front edge even for the far south of England though down here it does turn to rain as the air is moderated away from the cold we've been seeing but further north according to this forecast it stays as sniw the whole way through, which obviously heightenes the risk for most.

Thanks Kold...my blood pressure must have spiked or something,

Normal service has been resumed....now wheres my prozac

  3. Let's hope SATSIGS doesn't see what Roger just posted. The pin needle on the SATSIG'der scale would go through the side, out the other end and smash in two.

I would say Rogers thoughts is the upmost unlikely end of what will end up happening.

What do think our chances are of seeing anything overnight ?

I have to drive up to Sonning at 4 in the morning and am getting concerned.

or have i been reading to many threads lately

  4. The maximum temperature so far is just 1.5c (5c below average) with the severe frost from last night holding well on in the shade.

I even saw some icicles from windowsills.

  5. I know you won't believe me but we have had a snow shower here which has settled on the road. Small flakes and didn't last long but snow nonetheless.

I believe you :D I'm in Reading and we had the same. Small scattering of flakes some settling on the pavement etc.

    Drizzle now though.

  6. snow on northern hills maybe, i see nothing in any chart that even comes close to blizzards.

I know its so annoying when the media start touting the end of the world is nigh rubbish.

What really bugs though is that when the world is still spinning and we haven't all died of hyperthermia

they never go "oops sorry our mistake".

    Anyway, apologies rant over.
