Hey Paul S,
Hope I got this right but the low level cloud looked to be moving SE whilst the higher stuff was moving NE, wondering what would cause that, dont have much knowledge about TS, just enjoy them.
cheers,
Steve.

Are you sure its low level cloud? the only SW vectors coming up for Southend on sea is the 1000hpa flow (18000ft) which would be the cirrus layer being thrown out ahead of the CF. Everything else underneath is still moving NE however.
Hi snow,
It was low level cloud moving SE, getting a heave on too, you could see the higher level stuff moving NE.
cheers,
Steve.

Am i right in thinking CB's follow the upper winds..? if so what is the best HPA wind vector to overlay on the NW radar ... 500, 300hpa ..?
cheers,
Steve.

Running the NW radar animation it looks like it could pass so close to Kent to me, be a good light show for any folks there, I may even get a looksee from here if its not near dawn time.
cheers,
Steve

I don't think it's changing direction at all… I think the closest the French stuff will come is mid Channel. The MetO haven't updated their yellow warnings to orange as one might expect if the storms are a few hours away.
Running the NW radar I fear you could be right can only hope that something builds ahead of it I guess
cheers,
Steve.

I always enjoy any TS we get here the the SE UK , big or small, have watched many videos on the net from TS in the USA B) not quite the same as being there, I'm sure looking at a Supercell TS must be just awesome I love a bit of photography too and to snap a view of one would be tops, maybe one day I will get to go on one of NW tours over there, be a dream come true that
cheers,
Steve.
