  1. CatchMyDrift, on 31 December 2009 - 21:49 , said: There are now more toys landing here than snowflakes, and there have been plenty of snow flakes recently. We shouldn't really mock. After all, they get weeks on end of hot sun every summer, we get 2 days of heat and then 2 months of slightly less cold rain than we get in winter. This is our payback for enduring endless cloud and rain in summer time. I am sure I talk for many on this thread...... HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL. BRING IT ON
  2. Chucking it down with snow here. We have had 6 - 8 inches of lying snow for over a week and not been above freezing until today.
  3. Heavy snowfall here at the minute. Settling 3 -4 inches here. Roads are well covered.
  4. Has been snowing on and off all day and now snowing very heavily and is settling nicely.
  5. Snowing in Lochcarron since this morning. Now starting to settle.
  6. Thanks Pete, its good to be back. Yes I do love dogs, I am now down to three though. They all love snow. I don't care how much/how little snow we get, just a few flakes falling from the sky and that will make me happy.
  7. I'm definitely ramping, ramp away. LOTS OF SNOW.
  8. Have not posted on NW for months but OMG We have a met office warning for heavy snow for Sunday for Skye Lusa. I cant wait
  9. Turbot Bank Buoy recording 112mph over on XC obviously a glitch in the system.
  10. Our midges have been out when the sun is streaming down but are at the worst first thing in the morning and late evening and when it is damp. The only time they will disappear is when there is a breeze blowing.
  11. You had better try living up here in the Highlands, the midges are really bad at the moment, not one or two bites at a time try having hundreds of bites at a time, but I suppose that is what we get for living here. Roll on Winter
  12. I know exactly how you feel Cookie. Our midges started quite a few weeks ago and have been at nuisance levels for some days. We even have a midge machine in the back garden and have taken out 2 x 200g nescafe jars full of them but they still keep on coming. I agree with you completely about roll on winter. Now looking to the first significant frost to wipe them out. Sorry to hear about you suffering with hayfever. I do as well so started taking Piriteze a few weeks ago and is helping.
  13. Woke up to approximately 3 inches of snow this morning, quite a surprise really as it was not forecast.
  14. I'm not. Makes a nice change for it not to be blowing a hoolie here Cookie
  15. Snowing very heavily and settling on top of what we already had. Was not expecting to wake up to snow today.
  16. I agree on having a scottish section as well. Kept more informed with what is happening right here and now.
  17. I agree with you completely. I also lived down South up until four years ago. The slightess bit of snow and everything came to a grinding halt. The Highland Council are brilliant at keeping our roads open up here. My employers are in Somerset and I work for them here from home. (I was luckily to bring my job with me) They have not been able to get out for a few days because of the snow. It is absolute chaos down there. Where they are there is only about an inch or so.
  18. This is going to make the main headline news tonight. What was that falling out of the sky, "A grain of snow"
  19. Please send some my way Coastie. It has stopped snowing here now
