  1. I take it you chose not to get off your backside and burn some calories yesterday then?
  2. True, but I would rather it had melted and gone than have to look at that dirty brown mess!
  3. It'll be gone by this time tomorrow. Personally I'd let nature do the work for me ............
  4. I sued to always look at this one in Salford for a reasonable estimate of my conditions - Paul's weather station Salford UK PHQFH.CO.UK This page is for displaying the information from my weather station with links to my weather satellite pages including PHQFH Diy Guide But it hasn't updated since May........ Perfect. Thanks @Dark Horse Most appreciated
  5. Cold night ahead. Does anyone have a link for a weather station in south Manchester please?
  6. It's chilly outside isn't it? Maxed out at 2c today and we're below freezing already. For me this is just a normal January chilly spell. Frosty mornings and bluebird skies in the afternoon. I like it. Chance of a dusting over the next couple of days. I didn't really anticipate more from this particular cold snap. Certainly beats the rain and wind we've become accustomed to over the last 3 months though doesn't it? Hope some folks get lucky and get a dumping over the next day or two. We still have all of February to go...........
  7. That's over a week away. Hang on, let me just dust off my crystal ball.....................
  8. There's a lot of model runs to go yet. All looks promising. North, south, east or west. I think everyone is in with a shout at this stage......... Interesting times.
  9. It's responsible for the worst disaster in model history. As I'm sure @That ECM will testify.........
  10. Best of luck. Hope it goes well. Another rather moist day here. Little wind and feeling mild.
  11. The rain has been incessant since mid-morning. Relatively mild but it still makes for a pretty grim start to 2024. Really looking forward to the higher pressure forecast over the weekend………
  12. It's been wild here in lowland South Manchester. Much gustier than I was expecting. Went for a walk a couple of hours ago and my Apple Watch gave me a loud noise notification! 104 decibels. I was being buffeted about and the wind was literally screaming at that point and looking at the radar it looks like we were on the edge of a squally downpour. One fence panel down in the garden. Seems to be abating a little down but there's still the occasional rattling gust. Have 3 wheelie bins needing to go out tonight for collection in the morning but I think it may be wise to hold off for another hour or two............
  13. I’ve organised a bbq for 24 people tomorrow. Invites were sent 4 weeks ago. Gazebo up, pork just gone in the smoker with beans underneath. We will make the most of it!
  14. It was a great first post. Nice photo and made me chuckle. Welcome.
  15. You’re not wrong. I’m already doing my best to evade the advances of a mosquito. That high-pitched zing is more alarming to me than somone running at me with a chainsaw.
  16. Yup. All the wildlife that likes munching my blood I imagine……..
  17. It’s true. I watched a video of torrential rain in the city centre and Salford. Yet here am I just 3 miles south of the centre and although I heard the rumbles of thunder I’ve just had light rain for the last 3 hours……. But that’s the nature of the beast. Hit or miss. Sometimes you strike lucky, more often you don’t……
  18. Your time will come eventually I’m sure. You have over two thirds of this summer remaining……….
  19. I’ve tried literally everything. Including local honey. But thanks for the tip- I know from some forums I’ve been in that that works for many. I just can’t seem to find any relief this year. I’m glad you’ve been ok so far
  20. You’re lucky if today is the first day you’ve had to take an antihistamine. I’ve been chewing them like sweeties for weeks. Not even sure why I bother. I honestly don’t think they alleviate my symptoms…..
  21. It was wet for sure. I was expecting worse though to be honest. The rain has cleared now and it’s cool but not cold. Sunshine and showers expected tomorrow. Decent spring growing weather I guess. Hope you all enjoyed the extended weekend.
  22. I think we’ve probably seen the last of the frost so I reckon you should be ok to go ahead with planting now. Temps look fairly average for the next week or so with a good dollop of cloud and rain. Today is going to be a belter though!
