  1. Look at the 35c forecast for Samara!: http://meteo.infospace.ru/cities/html/index.ssi
  2. Whoa, 33c for Berlin! Berlin Forecast Quite a heatwave over eastern/central europe.
  3. Good videos, that hail looks very big! It's been pretty bad down here too (wind wise) and it's taking its toll on my trees with many small branches snapped off and plenty of leaves gone too- it sounds like a typical winters day outside
  4. Ye, I see that, I can't remember seeing that symbol on their charts before, here it is: Estofex
  5. http://www.rte.ie/news/2007/0511/tornado.html I live just down the road from a large village called Dunboyne and I go to school there. As I reported in the current conditions thread there was a t-storm in the area at around 6pm-6:30. There was some really torrential rain with minor flash flooding (but dunboyne got it much worse apparently) and some loud thunder overhead but most of it was south east of me and I did see the really dark clouds too. The first I heard of it was when people whom I know who had driven through the village said that there was some bad damage to the trees in the village green and some flooding - I know this place very well and those are big mature trees. They said that really big branches "looked like they had been ripped from their trunks". But then as soon as you drove away from the green there was not a trace of anything, obviously very localised. The weak tornado then appears to have moved directly north into the countryside and it hit the much larger town of Ashbourne where tiles were ripped off rooves and there was bad damage to trees. I was really hoping that my school was damaged but there's no reports of anything happening thereoSadoBig Smile I will post more if I get any more info. A home video of the funnel was apparently on the 9 news and is now on their website: HERE On that link just scroll down the page to the story- it is a really short clip and was not taken anywhere near the village so it is obviously when it was just a funnel out in the countryside. That was the closest I will probably ever come to a tornado so I am in a way gutted that I didn't see it but also glad that no one was hurt.
  6. That tornado/squall line was really clear on the radar and on satellite pics(with mich higher clouds) and even down here w had a sudden torrential downpour that was quickly followe by clear bue skies. It's talked about here in ore detail: here
  7. KSN also do a good streaming weather service: ksn weather channel
  8. That KSN coverage really is excellent but I hope the people in Hutchinson are taking cover
  9. Yes I'm not that stupid, I just thought it would interest people on this forum because after all most people on netweather would be interested in any severe weather even if it's nowhere near the chase team
  10. Has anyone else noticed the tornado warnings way down in Florida too? And also down in Texas there are fresh storms with tornado warnings too:
  11. Here's a better controllable webcam Here
  12. Don't know if this has been posted already but new tornado footage: Also, there is loads on the Greensburg one like this which shows radasr images of it: Here It is certainly a sobering sight to see such devastation happen to that town- 95% of it destroyed, if that was in the past when there were not the kind of warning systems they have today then many more would have died as it happened during the night when no one would have seen it coming.
  13. Is this a squall line?: radar image When do these things die- it will be coming up to dawn in a couple of hours there. Do they ever go right through the night and then continue in to the next day?
  14. This is off topic but now that i'm watching the radar over the plains i'm noticing the amazing patterns of the fields. The bizarre looking circular fields make it look like a patchwork quilt:
  15. Thanks! I have GE already so i'll just look for those "dynamic layers". I have always had an interest in the US tornado season and i follow it on american sites like accuweather etc but what i find is a great thing to do is zoom right in on the radar map where there is the strongest echoes and look for the nearest big town, and then find live webcams there. Also if it is near a big enough town there is usually a tv network and more and more they provide live internet streams when severe storms are near. About a month ago I was watching an Alabama tv station when tonadoes were near and they were amazed at the amount of people ,like us, from around the world who were watching (they asked people who were watching on the net to email them so i did and they read it out!) just out of pure interest in weather. EDIT: Ok I've installed the nexrad thing but is it normal for it to be showing circular white blobs like these:
  16. I've only discovered these threads in the last few days but I find them fascinating and am now addicted! I've noticed that some people have got an extra for google earth that lets them superimpose current radar images onto the page. Can someone point me in the right direction as to installing it, thanks.
  17. If you read the text underneath the streaming box it mention sthat sometimes there is no audio. I was watching it a few moments ago and they just had a quick 30second broadast to mention a tornado watch had been issued.
  18. I cant get the feed to play anything, is it working for you? *EDIT: It's working for me now*
  19. I agree, and well put! What I would like to know is when was the last time some of the GW naysayers got on a plane and looked out the window to see just how dirty our atmosphere is and see the amount of industrial haze everywhere - all because of human beings! How can people say that such massive volumes of greenhouse gases are not affecting our climate?? BTW, great post SF!
  20. Not everyone who respects the environment is a nutcase you know.
  21. Lol our irish met just had their daily long range f/cast on the radio and it was clear they didn't have a clue what was going to happen past tomorrow, in fact they cut short their f/cast and didn't mention anything further than tuesday at all!
  22. Just read your blog john, it's excellent and great for making things easier to understand for people like me with very limited knowledge of model watching. Thanyou
