Lincoln. Really confused.
Most ppn will have died out i think if it gets to you and may be rain if it is by looking at maps.
The place with the biggest snowfalls are:
West Midlands
Sw Wales
London
Central southern England (Northem parts)
These will all be able to see 15cm and i wouldnt be surprised if the odd 20cm got recorded.

Lol heavy snow expected here in Kidderminster at 6am and lasting to about 6pm/7pm/8pm in the evening!

Just a quicky, then I am really off to bed.
The MetOffice have updated their forecast (for the East Mids at least, I haven't looked at any other regions) as of 0403hrs this morning.
I won't quote them directly, but for Thursday they say snow before dawn, lasting until the evening before dying out with significant accumulations likely for most;
they keep the wintery theme for the region until saturday afternoon with futher sleet and snow pushing northwards, particularly on saturday morning.
Sunday looks like a misty, overcast day. A typical "cold thaw" day, might I add.
Same thing here for the West Midlands forecast.
Snow from about 6am to 6pm in the evening!
oh yeah!
And heavy Snow for mostly all of the hours!

My barometer now says -1c but i think it should be -2c.
The frost here started to appear at about 5 this evening, now -2.8About the same here too.

Pickles im sure the temperature i read out first was colder than said as i can see frost starting to appear on cars!
id say my temperature is about the same as yours!

Lol bit of a differnece! mind you its just gone down to -0.7 now. Im in quite a busy are so perhaps its the thermometer! Mind you it feel more like -2c though outside so ill go with the same temperature as you pickles roughly.

Wales allways get the snow and the midlands dont do too bad, so I think Id happily take the snow off you..
Suprisingly there is a place Id be happy to see get snow, even if it involved me missing out! :lol:
And thats Carlisle! they are geographically the worst mainland area for seeing snow in Britain, n anyone remember mildcarlisle? lol
For your information the West Midlands rarely gets snow. Snow from the east rarely gets here and snow in wales always stays in wales mainly and you up north do way better.

Tonight is going to be a real freeze up across alot of the the country! What is the lowest people are recording at the moment? I am seeing -4.4C at the now! I had to check it with another thermometer just to make sure there wasn't a problem with my weather station! Is anywhere colder? I have got lying snow which helps!
only 0.4c here in Boiling Kidderminster and Stourbridge! lol!

Why is it quite possible? And is this cold snap going to be over or does the current set up reset and give us another shot? I fear that although we will get snow on Thursday it will not stay around long before the rain comes in and i was hoping for a chance of some more prolonged cold after this week.
Depends when your Snow then rain or complete rain arrives.

just watched our local weather girl, here in the east can expect snow how much she could not say ,but if you look on the weather on bbc24. there we got up 15-20 cm ,plus more snow saterday - sunday
Your going to be let down if you are expecting 15-20cm plus more later. For your area at the moment expect 5cm (10cm really pushing it) at most and thats if you get any!

Lots of people talking about the snow for sat but caddy said tonight that the atlantic will come back in on Sat with temps going up to 8C for us in the SE. Can anyone tel me what the chances are of this happening?
Quite possible especially later in the day!

Hi Blizzards! I admire your enthusiasm, but you are setting yourself up for a bit of a fall by talking about massive blizzards. If I were you I would remain quietly confident without getting too carried away...
Im not saying we will have Blizzards! Im being sarcastic although its possible but i mean we rarley have snow here but this is a very big event for us!

BBC News 24 predicts about 7-9 (Mainly 7 probably but 8 likely too) hours of Snow for us or the Midlands and surrounding areas on thursday!

Well according to the Net Weather 12z 7 day forecast, it doesn't look good for snow Thursday morning down here in Woking Surrey. They're going for sleet and 3c between 3 and 6am for it to turn to rain thereafter!
Im afraid thats luck. Snow in the Midlands like what we will have on thursday is Literally a Massive Blizzard for us!

Of course that doesn't mean it won't snow up ther eif it does reach that far north,justthat it won't have the same sort of bite as it had say in the south/Midlands, but as the front will really struggle to get much further north then your location so while the snow may only be light it could last a while.
They said it will be quite heavy for a while.

I'm getting a flight from Heathrow at 1pm, should it be okay in getting there (from Aylesbury) and for planes taking off etc? I've been looking forward to this holiday for ages - looks like I'm going to miss the big snow event I've always wanted whilst away

According to Charlie on Central weather i should get my snow at 6am and tom f123 you should get yours at about 7/8am and then we will have snow for most of the day! Better not turn to rain at the very end of the day!

Central weather predicts 6 inches for us in Kidderminster and Birmingham and some other areas.

Hi all,
I will be in London until about 10.30pm tomorrow night as I wil lbe at a gig...
Will my journey back to Reigate by train be affected do oyu think - also do you think I will be able to get back to London on Thursday morning... (an inch of snow should stop me!!)
Wednesday should be ok and Thursday may have slight disruption but london isnt going to have loads of snow.

You could see a couple of centimetres but not much but enjoy it if you see it because if your in wiltshire it may turn to rain!
Winston, If your on about Monmouth near Gloucester then it may be a difficult journey on thursday but it may be ok for saturday!

Blizzards possible in the morning then turning a little lighter in the afternoon but staying heavy.
