Really happy to c a decent cold spell coming now just so scared as usual us on th South coast will get rain while everyone else gets Snow!!! Anyone kno if we r in with a decent chance or do I give up now?! Thanks

The JMA really is intent on sinking the Isle Of Wight and much of the Southern Coast Line of the UK.
It's ditched the intense low for Tuesday and replaced it with this for Thursday instead !

Very latest UKMO update raises, not lowers, snow likelihood later Sun for much of region. ARPEGE in agreement.

I think iow pomp Southampton maybe need there own thread! Depressing hearing about heavy snowfall wen all you've got is rain! I don't begrudge it tho!

I can now confirm its snowing in Newport iow! Took an hour to get here from ryde but it's here it's light but it's laying! Woooo wasn't expecting any today!

Absolutely delighted with how much we've had on iow, Ian ferguson spot on last night so thanks v much to him lol shame I had to work th morn so missed the heaviest fall but made up for it this aft built a snowman n had snowball fights with th kids
hoping for more but not too worried if we don't as I'm at st Mary's mon night to c my beloved Everton hopefully hammer the saints Anyone know if we're likely to c anymore??

Strong signal for snow inland on IOW in UKMO UKV & UK4 modelling. Basically, increasingly marginal for coastal snow as you head further W towards Portland, Lyme Bay etc and less marginal as you head further E where sea track reduces and thus degree of boundary layer modification from continental feed. Uplands of Dorset show 5-10cm widely early AM before gradual thaw, at least at lower levels, here, Devon & Somerset through Fri afternoon. Hope this helps clarify!

temp on gosport is 5.3 degrees lol, and dewpoint 2.3...
Wow that's a lot warmer than here on iow i always thought we were the warmest lol Temp here is 2.1 and dew point 1.1 still not gud for snow tho

Really confusing in here as it seems most r sw rather than south central
no offence everyone lovely but the IoW'ers are defo in the minority! I find it difficult to get info as sw and s central won't necessarily get the same weather! Fingers crossed we all get snow -
I'm still not convinced Fri will cm off for iow! Met o have us as heavy snow most of day n on most of the charts it's right over us then I see a met o chart that cuts off above us ugh?? Can someone plz re-assure me or depress me?! Thanks

yep good observation there. Same here as well as a further decrease in temps. My fear is though it is still such a long way off and really it won't be until Friday morning we won't really know exactly what we will be dealing with and where. ..
Yeah I know, I need to keep feet on ground n not get too carried away but...it's soo hard not to get excited lol roll on fri......

And......met office just changed iow from light snow to heavy snow fri pm wooooo surely this can't go the way of the pear now?!
