How I miss Dan Corbett, John Hammond and Rob McElwee. Mind you, they left when all the snow left so memories stick fondly with those.

I doubt it has much affect, it is only a mile wide. What does is the chain of high ground to our direct west, 800- 950m chain. Air uplifted and cooled enabling evaporative cooling on downward slope, hence why central lakeland roughly here up to Threlkeld can receive copious snow when places around the perimeter receives little.
The December event “lake” was Morecambe Bay. I watched it develop and form. Constant stream fantastic viewing
Yes Fells to the West Bowfell top seems permanently cloud bound as fronts hit the W side A sight to remember being hit by constant streams of dropping cloud on the Climbers traverse Always seem to get a good temp inversion there and on the Crinkles

Back from an afternoon watching Crewe Alex win again. It was dry for most of the match, but I was aware of some light rain falling from 4.30pm onwards. However, this had largely passed by the time the match ended at 5pm and I got home on foot at 5.30pm near enough dry. One of the benefits of living close to a club in the lower reaches of the Football League is that I can leave home on foot at 2.15pm and be back home for supper half an hour after the match finishes.
An interesting week ahead in the Region it seems. I think the 7-day forecast towards the end of the BBC 1 Countryfile programme tomorrow evening should be worth a watch.
Always handy was Gresty Road. 45mins away on the train. Mid eighties Division Four. Good times.

Cold with wintry showers affecting northwestern coasts, with showers moving inland especially in the north, clearer in the south. Potential for more persistent snow through Tuesday in the northwest.
