A bit of a weird amber warning area for Sunday/Mondays storm with all of Scotland included, most of Wales but little of England south of mid Lancs across to north Yorks apart from the extreme south and southwest.
I could understand that if the centre of the low was crossing the midlands but isn’t it supposed to pass across northern Scotland so whilst the areas shown are probably justified, I’d have thought that far more of England would have been included.
maybe time for further adjustments but this mornings update has already been put up and although it widens the area across Wales, there are no southerly changes across England.
I suppose that damage can occur without an upgrade though and yellow or amber, it’s going to be a wild couple of days and as I’m a tight ass and it can cost a lot of money, it’s certainly not my favourite type of extreme weather.
Agreed. Neither ours Ian. Being flat here and exposed it’s quite something hearing gusts winding up over the fields.

Had a job today in Workington on the Cumbrian coast. Got past the Lancaster- Morecambe junction on the M6 and the snow covered fells came into view. All the way to junction 40 Penrith, the views were stunning. Still a fair bit of snow on the ground just north of Keswick and the Temp in my van was saying -4.5 at 10:30 am. Got to sub-Tropical Workington, no sign of any frost and a temp of 3c.
we really do have some stunning beauty on our doorsteps in the North West.
Just wish I could have took some photos. Was wasn’t it. All truly Alpine in good condition. Some must out and up there having fun and games Even the Howgills looked well on the M6. Sad to return before the melt.

Was great to see most of us have done well today on the snow front, whilst those east of the Pennines have moaned lol. Looking at the ensembles there is a strong likelihood of it turning milder for a time, for how long who knows, GFS wanting to bring us an easterly at the end of the run but as of now not well supported by the pack "more runs needed"
Sunday. Have a look
