Both GFS and NAE keeping it as snow the whole period for our region. The 6z on both look really good. Here's hoping (or praying!) we're on the right side of "marginal" right through....
May need to keep an eye on the North West thread as well
To my untrained eye, GFS 12z doesn't look as good as the 6z for the snow potential....and neither does the 12z NAE compared to the 6z...
Am I reading this wrong?
The 6z seems to have downgraded the snowy potential compared to the 0z, especially in precipitation amounts. Having said that 6z is renowned to be progressive, so lets see what the 12z has for us.....but i'm not fully convinced of an all snow affair just yet.....
That is true, but it was in the opposite direction to what we gonna see on friday. The models handle cold -> mild better than vice versa...but we shall see...
12z is showing a snowy breakdown.....
I am not fully convinced yet that it'll give a snowy breakdown, but let's see what the 12z shows now. I find this particular run to be more reliable than the others....
Seems to be quite a bit of discussion on the "philsophy" of model forecasting, I can see both sides of the argument, but i'd like to know what 6z is showing, and there's not much discussion on that!
Probably isn't the right time for this lol, but just checked the 7 day forecast for our region, says torrential snow for saturday lol! (yes i know it's a long way out!)
Adam what do you think mate??
Lol Adam's at it again!
I'm also from the Keighley area, i've got a feeling like my Halifaxian friend, we maybe a tad too west, but we are on the right side of the pennines, so we shall see....
Lol Adam you are a cracker!
Let's not get too hung about the feature from the SE just yet. I'm not giving it any serious thought until it reaches the shores of SE.
Only had at most 2 inches around the Keighley area even though it has been heavy but fine powdery snow for most of yesterday afternoon and last night.
