Morning All!
Think what is coming up on the radar now is not what is forcast tonight going by what I saw on the BBC this morning; It moves away, then the real fun starts at around midnight through to tomorrow... I'm prob wrong tho!
We must have had rain over night as all we have is slush left . Still white on Mendips though.
yes your correct.
-
Anyone south of the M4 will be rain.
-
Very interesteing 5 day (and 24hr forcast) for Bristol................
Meto still have their warning out for Bristol...............
Could it all end in tears................
-
Not convinced. I think the milder air is going to catch up pretty quick thru' the night. Mixture of rain, sleet and snow me thinks!
Just looked at the meto radar and that precipitation is already showing up in south west. Ahead of schedule? Any thoughts?
The temps were always predicted to be marginal.
BTL's best situs like this, in winters past, have been where day temps have been at freezing point from a couple of days of biting easterlies and whereas it hasn't been exactly mild the last few days, it has not been a 'classic old school' event, as i've just described.
Edit: Fax chart at 36 hrs shows quite clearly 528 dam line thru' mid-Wales. Sorry don't know how to attach from NW chart viewer!! (plus i'm in work so can't post all day )
Morning.
Going by the posts of the model thread, plenty of rain for us around the Bristol area. The snow seems to have gone north.
-
As I said Metcheck showing snow from midnight wednesday to midnight friday for Bristol.
When you check the snow risk charts, it shows snow from thursday at 18.00.
Very confusing.
-
If the low can stall long enough for the cold air to dig south then I see no reason why there couldn't be a nice pasting of snow, if as I suspect that isn't the case then yep... rain rain rain. On the other hand, low expectations means you can only be pleasantly suprised
Yes agree.
But from these situations in my location, waking up to the sound of cars passing through puddles in the morning is so common.
-
Good chance of heavy rain for the Bristol area if you ask me.
Mectcheck going for HEAVY snow early hours of Thursday, then light to moderate snow all day, and all day Friday................mmmmmmm
Cant see it.
-
The system that's coming up from the South is on us (Clevedon) 20 miles south of Bristol and its rain.
Clevedon too close to the coast, Yatton mind you five miles away was sleet and snow.
-
snow here, 12 miles south of Bristol.
-
Could get a Bristol Streamer tonight
Is that the straw and clutching thing again i mentioned??
-
lots of straw clutching here!!
Wait for radar on thursday into friday, then we will see!!!
-
Extremely heavy snow falling here, and I'm used to heavy snow in this part but aint seen it like this in my lifetime.
Currently have around 18cm of snow on grass and garden in places and paths have a goot 4 inches on including roads. Very exciting here are some pictures.
18cm? Looks like a couple of inches at most!!
-
Not convinced it will make BTL; i reckon it's just going to swirl around N.Devon and s.somerset for the morning, picking up moisture of the atlantic and b.channel
Yeah you good be right.
-
showers on the radar seem to be moving E/NE Bristol area may get some.
-
Can you please chuck in the post code TA19 ....
Dont you know where you live?
lol
-
Ohhh..for the jolly fellows of Somerset.....glass half emty or half full..mmmmmm..Half empty in Brizzol me thinks.
Had the same amounts of snowfall here as you. Im not IN Bristol. 12 miles south.
Just hate half day events with a quick thaw.
Good covering here now still snowing.
-
Another couple of cm here.
ENJOY IT WHILE WE CAN. LONG GONE BY THIS TIME TUESDAY.
-
This is odd, Matt is right because I watched the BBC forecast aswell and there wasn't much in the way of snow shown on there graphics. But did anyone see the ITV forecast? They said there could be up to 10cm of snow in parts of the South and SW?? I thought that was slightly too exaggerated but I dont know where there getting that from.
For some reason knowbody trusts ITV!!!
Depends what they mean by SW, is that plymouth or penzance? They are crap, Im not sure what forcast models they use!
I would describe Bristol as SW of the UK, but really it isn't, if you know what i mean!!!
-
Local BBC Radio Bristol going for 10-15 cms. Apparently Bristol is in the firing line for the heavy stuff between now and 3am :o
You sure? BBC TV forcast said no accumulations tonight.
ICE is the main problem.
-
