Great pics, that snow is amazing.
Are the nude ones inspired by Alex Grey at the north pole
-
Was an inch or so of snow in Cork at about 6am but by the time I got out of bed it was all gone and there was sleet.
Mum a picture message from my mum back in Tipperary of my little sister with a snowman though, they they still have plenty of snow anyway.
-
Got a very light dusting here in Cork at around 6 and it is still on the roof tops and cars even now. Very cold though in a crappy student house with just electric heating!
-
After seeing the 18Z GFS I'm starting to think my 1.9C could be too high already!
-
I'll try 1.9C. Am going to be a little off for January, but February still has the SSW to deal with so I think it will be a cold one by recent standards
-
10.9C here today has been the highest max, lowest max was -0.2C on the 6th. We've had a low of -7.1C on the 7th.
-
I'll take a stab at around 9.66C

Thanks for that PP. What exactly is a ferrite ring though?
I'm thinking it might have something to do with the wind shaking it or causing the plank to sway and making the gauge tip and give a false reading as it has been quite windy recently.

Seem to have a problem with my rain gauge.
Got my WS2350 at Christmas and everything has been working well so far but today was the first with rainfall and my rain gauge seems to be over doing it a little. Apparently I've gotten over 70mm of rain since 6am this morning while no station near me has gotten anywhere close to that figure.
I thought it would be too low as I have it attatched to a plank of wood about 7m in the air, but instead it's way higher than it should be!
Any ideas?

I'll take a stab at 2.7C
-
I'll take a stab at 3.3C

Completely overcast and still out.
Temperature 18.8C, humidity 80% and air pressure 1012

Thunderstorm for the last hour here in South Tipperary, fork lightening and some of the heaviest rain I've ever experienced, still a few rumbles in the distance!
-
Small t-storm in the last hour, torrential rain and a few flash's but with an almost continuous rumble. Skies are still quite dark so potential for more hopefully...
-
Great pics.
Love going to Achill, beautiful place. Parents spent a year half thinking of moving there after one visit! They still plan to move there in a few years.
-
A provisional 15.4C for me thanks
-
Thanks for that.
Studied a bit about the effects on eruptions in a Quaternary Climate and Geomorpholgy module I had this year. Find it all quite interesting. It's almost incomprehensible the amount of material those eruptions release...
-
Fascinating stuff SC. How often do VEI 8 eruptions occur?
-
Il go with an early punt at 15.9C, same as my June guess!
-
My 15.9 isn't looking too healthy right now...
When was the last time a sub 13C June CET was recorded?
-
Flooding appears to have been quite serious. It seems Crewkerne, Ilminster, Shepton Mallett and Wells were the worse affected.
Thanks Jethro! Love his stuff too and hope to visit the COSM one day myself. Have a couple of his books though like Transfigurations and Sacred Mirrors. His work on Tool videos is amazing.
-
Hope it's not too bad. Have lots of relatives living in Shepton Mallet, is that in the affected area?
-
15.9C for me thanks
-
8.0 for me please. I think there might be some impressive mins and maxs this April.
