  1. I know that this in not storm related but in order to speed up the electoral process I have offered to form the next government with Gordon Brown. We would have to agree to few items one of which is cheap flights to the USA for storm chasers. I am now awaiting a reply from Downing Street

    John

I think you should have held out for Government funding for flights and 'research' provided annually (You only qualify if a member of a chase forum). There are many crucial things that do need 'research'. I believe it would be necessary to study The Big Texan for some time just to get an understanding of what sort of nutter it really takes to go chasing and precisely which bolts should be loose.

  2. stu not tempted yourself then tour three tell you what if you agree i will do it along side you hows that grab ya :excl:

What it'll take for real genuine consideration! :whistling:

If Paul has a proper go tonight and uses it as a warm up to then have another go on Tour 3 then you, me, Pat and Paul all on the table during 3?

(Oh H*ll, what have I said!!) :help:

  3. You lot are complete gits!

    1. I am allergic to crowds of people and Stages

Don't think of it as a stage, just a big step really and once you hit the 20oz mark I'm sure you won't even notice the people!

    2. I am allergic to Lettuce

    Don't eat the salad

    3. I am allergic to Seafood

    :excl:

    4. I have Toothache

String and a door before you come in and then use the challenge as a good way to overcome the pain (Perhaps some lubrication would also be a good move :whistling::help:

  4. Hi mate thought of t his option myself as Im already heading this direction BUT no flights going that way either

unless your refering by car or coach

I just know they're still flying from there at the moment. Wouldn't take too long to get there by car or mini-bus. Say 1,000 miles on good roads. I'm sure it won't matter anyway Pat as everything will be all good for all of you.

  5. Ross, Don't know if it's any good to you but I was really struggling to find flights at a reasonable price. I have ended up getting direct flights with AA for £463. I have done it all through a company called Flight Centre who have done all the leg work for me. I just need to now get a hotel sorted for the first night over there as I don't think the airport couches will be very comfortable.

Far as customs is concerned the first year I told them we were sight seeing and breezed through then last year I fessed up and ended up getting the third degree from the guy so don't know with that one!

Would be great to see you out there again.

  6. No that's while we are chasing Stew! You are staying in a Kansas Barn! :whistling::rofl:

Great news about the flights and sorry did not know those Chase days fell on a Bank Holiday!

Must look closer for next years dates although at the moment the 1st Chase next year does not start until May!

Not long now and dont forget that Bio - Need to get that Thread started in the next few weeks

    Paul S

Bio!!! Hell, had forgotten about that...... again.:wallbash: Doing it now.

  7. Well that's the flights booked.

Damn though, didn't realise that this was a Bank Holiday that we are flying back on so everything is more expensive and booked up now! Can't get a direct flight back so flying to Boston (probably sharing with the sheep or something) and then back to Heathrow.

    Lesson learned me thinks!

  8. I would like to say thank you to both Pauls, Tom, John & Ian for all their efforts on our chases this year. The streaming has been great to watch and puts many of the more established groups to shame.

Paul S & Tom - Thank you for all your work each day to assess the weather charts & predictions and the willingness to then chase anything that is reachable each day. This can been seen by the fact that it is a slack year yet you frequently were able to put the teams in the way of adverse weather when many other groups and individuals ended with nothing to show for it! There are certainly many good memories to be taken from this season. This may be a business venture but you make every effort to ensure that it is a 'personal' experience for all involved.

    Bring on next year!

  9. Well It looks like the last Chase Day for 2009 in a Very Challenging Year with Little Reward for Tornadoes (3 Brief) But we are hoping to go out on a High and it's Aaron's Birthday as well! So will start and probably end up at Fredericksburg for a Birthday knees Up before travelling back towards DFW On Friday.

With some luck you can finish on a high today.

Even if nothing happens though there are worse places to be. Fredericksburg certainly used to have a good Chili's :good: so have a great birthday Aaron. :gathering::drunk:

  10. What is hail fog?

    From Wikipedia -

Hail fog sometimes occurs in the vicinity of significant hail accumulations due to decreased temperature and increased moisture leading to saturation in a very shallow layer near the surface. It most often occurs when there is a warm, humid layer atop the hail and when wind is light. This ground fog tends to be localized but can be extremely dense and abrupt. It may form shortly after the hail falls; when the hail has had time to cool the air and as it absorbs heat when melting and evaporating.
