  1. Temperature dropping rapidly in a heavy sleety shower, and is now 2.4C.
  2. Currently a bland 9.7 degrees. Wind speed's a dull 16mph average. Had a boring 3mm of rain so far, and it's a monotonous murky overcast sky.
  3. Bloody awful day here. 18mm of rain since 7am, bringing the total since Saturday to 105mm. Last year we had 36mm during the whole of the month. Also currently 11.1C, second only to Feb 28th last year in terms of mildest February day. To make things worse, my mum's coming over. I'm fed up.
  4. Real blizzard conditions here. 0.1C with fine snow-grains as opposed to big flakes, and visability down to 150m!
  5. Currently -4.7C with just 1cm of snow, but looking gorgeous none-the-less!
  6. Now snowing heavily enough (lovely little snow-grains) that you can hear it!
  7. Perfect here...currently -0.6 and snowing steadily with gorgeous tiny grains. So far we've had perhaps 10mm...wonderful stuff!
  8. Snowing heavily and steadily here. Started about 40 minutes ago, and already 6 or 7mm. Wind picking up and temperature stable at -1.2C
  9. Now -7.8C......frost on my telescope mirror too
  10. Got up to -2.7C today, and already dropped back to -5.7C, which is the coldest temperature recorded before 6pm on a Tuesday in the last year. My football's frozen, and I've hurt my foot kicking it.
  11. Now up to the sweltering heights of -4.3C, sunny and calm.
  12. Oh, and we're only 6 miles from Shap Fell...so that gives you a good idea of what it's like!
  13. Now it's -9.4C and dropping still. Do I have my thermometre in the freezer? Guess you could say I live in a bit of a frost pocket; nearly 700ft up, 40 miles inland and surrounded by fells, the cold air just seems to roll in to the village. Tonight is our 21st night of air frost this month....I love it!!
  14. Got to a high of -2.4 today, and is already -7.4C...looking like getting well below -10C tonight. Plenty of snow on the northern Pennines and Lake District hills...none at my level, but with all this frost...who cares!
