  1. It's already 19.0º here with a nice breeze and humidity of about 55%. Reached 22.4º here yesterday...the warmest day since September 17th. I'm great at parties...can you tell?
  2. Already 16.5º here, with high cloud increasing. Praying for rain....well, not really praying. Well, not praying at all actually...more hoping that it will rain.
  3. Currently just 6.7º! Dark grey clouds, heavy showers. Brrrrrrr
  4. Was the mildest night since September 18th last night, with a minimum of 10.7º. Currently 16.3º with nicely broken cloud. I don't know quite what would constitute horribly broken cloud, but this is nicely broken.
  5. Just got back home to discover we had 27mm of rain and hail in 2 and a half hours, and at one point, it was falling at a rate of 250mm/hour.
  6. Border News forecast a sunny and dry evening. Had they been arsed to look out of the window however.......just on the edge of a thunderstorm right now...main body seems slightly over to the east, over perhaps the M6 and Shap.
  7. Chucking it down right now and 8.7º. Got up to 15.8º earlier today, which was enough for me to have an 80p 99 flake.
  8. I remember when I was a lad, there was this one Spring day, when there was nothing but a light breeze, a bit of high cirrus cloud here and there, and a temperature of 15.6º at 10.53am. Today reminds me of that.
  9. Currently 10.1º and grey like a November Saturday when Ipswich have just lost at home to Hull and you get home to find Noel Edmunds is on the telly. It was lovely when I woke up this morning though....at 5.30am. My eldest daughter came in asking if it was morning yet, and I said no, but she said it was sunny, so it must be morning......she had a point. Damn the axial tilt of our planet.
  10. Dropped down to 0.4º last night with frequent rain showers earlier on. The trouble is, I left my new helmet out in the garden (my last one went a funny shape when I left it next to a radiator), so I hope the damp and the cold won't have damaged it. Currently soaring upwards at a sweltering 7.9º.
  11. Slept like a baby last night (never understood that phrase actually, as in my experience, sleeping like a baby means waking up every 3 hours and messing your own pants), but woke up to find we'd had 18mm of rain, and a 38mph gust. It must have been heavy as I went to bed a past midnight, and was up by 6.30, and it wasn't raining then. Currently it's 11.2º with bright sunny intervals and frequent showers.
  12. 12.0º here at the moment, with blue sky surrounding the horizon, but grey gloom overhead, as if God is punishing the village for wrongdoings. Perhaps marrying our own sisters is wrong? Well, I know some first cousins in Crosby Ravensworth that married, but it's sunny over there. April as a whole had an average daily max of 13.2º and an average daily min of 4.6º (with not a single night of air frost) and a total of 48mm of rain.
  13. Coldest day of the month also here yesterday....only got up to 9.2º. Currently 8.2º with a very light north-westerly wind.
  14. A miserable 7.8º here at the moment, with a depressing grey sky and a unecessary cold northerly wind. Bah.
  15. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Currently 8.9º but the sun's trying to break through. I should perhaps shut my window to get warm, but that means moving, so I can't be bothered.
  16. Currently 17.2º after a high of 20.1º. Now, (and this is amazing, the sort of thing you'll tell your grandchildren about in years to come), this is the third consecutive day with the daytime maximum being precisely 20.1º. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it for myself.
  17. 10.6º here, which seems to be the preferred temperature for the flies hibernating in my windows to wake from there winter clumber, only to be confronted by a high-speed ruler a few seconds later.
  18. Well, just to cheer Paul up, I went for a stroll this afternoon....well, more of a hike really.....up High Cup Nick in the northern Pennines, and there was plenty of snow above perhaps 2000ft. Cross Fell was well-covered and looked quite deep. It was gorgeous in the sunshine, but perishingly cold.
  19. Snowing here too, rather surprisingly. Very light, but steady. Currently 1.6º
  20. Currently 0.6º and overcast after a night-time low of -4.4º......our 6th night of air frost so far this month (average night-time minimum of -1.8º), or our 20th night of frost in the last 24 and our 68th night of air frost this winter. I'm great at parties.
  21. Currently clear, calm and -3.1º after a day-time high of a whopping 9.2º.
  22. Proper snow shower here; started about 8.20am and just finished. Big white fluffy flakes, but didn't settle. Temeprature now 1.4º.
  23. Currently a surprising 5.6º ( the warmest it's been for a fortnight) after a night-time low of -8.1º. Still some snow in the garden, but I don't fancy it's chances.
  24. Mopsy thanks you for your interest and has asked me pass on his best wishes to you(he, of course, can't type himself; he's a rabbit). I'm still a bit worried about sack-chill following his operation, but it's now been sufficient time since he was scrotally robbed that we will be getting him a Guinea Pig companion in a few days. In the meantime he's tucked up in fair-trade, organic, low-fat, gluten-free hay. Now -4.9º.
