Why is it raining/sleeting south of Canterbury? Doesn't bode well for later It isn't, it's rain/sleet and iceballs

We've just had "RAIN" and it's inland away from the coast! This cold spell is turning into a damp squib so far, just cold and frosty. Don't see how we are going to get snow tomorrow evening?

Dead battery yesterday car wouldn't start, had to pick up a new one costing £140!!! Great start to Christmas. Still, from the look of the battery it was 20 years old anyway.. So I can deal with the snow now

Why are people even bothering with the GFS and discussing it beyond a certain period when it's creating not one, not two but THREE unrealistic dartboard lows.. Honestly, throw it in the bin. ( Not because it's not showing what I want, but it's WRONG )

IF GFS keeps doing these dartboard lows, it will keep going in the BIN! Why does this model keep doing this year in year out?

Have you seen tomorrow's GFS? It's lacking the dartboard lows

That's crazy, completely different to the west and north west of us for what was forecasted

And all that money going into these models! Might as well just ditch them and stay at one week at a time

Glad I told everyone to ignore the GFS yesterday, especially as it was throwing up dartboard lows again! Always ignore it when it does that.

Why are people evening bothering with GFS if it's showing a huge dartboard low to the south west?!?!

If you end up getting Dartboard lows with the GFS then you might as well throw the entire set in the bin!! This usually happens when the GFS is having trouble, so I'm going to discount this run today

There seems to be an issue in the models around about the second week of December.. Lots of little shortwaves appearing out of nowhere, then its as if they kick it up a notch and start to readjust lol

How does it compare to the same day last year?

Unlike most winters I can remember, there has been a distinct lack of powerful wind storms but replaced with torrential downpours. It would be interesting if we get a harsh winter what with the record breaking heat we had this summer. Also as if it's doing a reset! Models are looking very good again with all of them with interest UKMO,GFS,ECM! Not sure my energy bills will like it though
