There hasn't been much in the way of sleet here just wet/dry snow. Easily added another 2-3 inches in places, our snowman has 10 inch drifts
Its great to see the sides of houses completely white from the blowing snow.

rain and temps risen to 1.9c

I'm liking this graphic on netweathers homepage We are very lucky to be in a position to get thundersnow.
-
I swear there was a flash in the sky followed by a rumble of thunder!
Cramlington
I saw the flash from all the way in Fenham, never heard any thunder though.
-
We've only had 1 or 2 cm here in Fenham today. Fine margins.
-
The band is widening now and is slowly moving over the West End of Newcastle.
-
Judging by Facebook there's a blizzard in High Heaton and Gosforth but nothing in Fawdon or Byker. Really??
Absolutely nothing here in the West End of Newcastle.
-
My location is literally on the edge of it and only getting a few sprinkles of snow. It seems to be missing me completely over the next hour as it skirts by.

Not wanting too much snow on Friday/Sat as I don't want the Newcastle game postponed.

Went for a walk on the town moor with the dog earlier and snow was above ankles.
-
Blue sky with pink clouds to the east and snow on the ground. My favourite type of weather.
-
Is my thermometer broke, its says the lowest it got last night in Fenham was 1.0c.

Not too impressed by this shower. The flakes are very fine and it's not laying on surfaces where snow has melt.
-
Is this band of snow going to hit darlington .very sunny right now?
Yes
-
Look at the tail end heading into Norfolk
Some beafy showers behind this band too. Today looks a cracker.
-
Imagine if we get these sorts of 'storms' all day SNOWMAGEDDON
-
Wow, that is intense. Thundersnow prehaps?

That band in the North Sea is forming nicely:
Really didn't see that one coming. North Sea unpredictable as ever.
-
Looks encouraging in the North Sea.
-
Is there something forming in the North Sea? looks like a band trying to form from up past Aberdeen down to Teeside.
Sky clearing up quite a bit.
-
Sky news have us to have 3-4 hours of snow with the front moving back in off the North Sea.
-
So far in this cold spell , my thermometer hasn't dropped below 0.5c.
