Got ya fella. Sorry mate I just saw that Pilko had been mentioning Netweather earlier and assumed you were him. You been a member on here long like?
Yeh since sept 07.
-
Haha aye, is this Pilko?
Haha, nah it's Fenham Mag

Really hoping all that stuff sitting directly to the NE of me hits land and causes a bit havoc in Consett!
Fellow Newcastle-onliner?
-
I would be very surprised if that hasn't produced thunder snow around Newcastle in the last few minutes.
Really intense shower on the radar, maybe even more so than the storm that passed SE of here earlier.
EDIT: Tyne Bridge webcam just went really fuzzy and cut off for a couple of seconds, never seen that happen before, must be lightning close by.
My lights and street lights have been jittery for the past hour, not sure whats up with them.

just had a real heavy spell of rain THIS IS SNOW JOKE NOW, its to mild to snow here, its game over, mind you those further inland are going to get a belting snow shower soon.
Where are you mate?
the locations have went off again
-
Very stormy looking clouds heading towards me now. Maybe some thundersnow
-
Potentially a lot of prolonged snow coming our way if the north east to south west wind keeps up.
-
-
Whiteout in Newcastle, not big flakes just a deluge of very fine flakes and a strong wind.
-
BBC forecast for the North east is looking good for tomorrow for snow.
-
what are your feelings on those showers coming to us rather than york moors?
We will probably catch the edge of the first band which wont amount to much just a bit of light snow but hoping that some wider bands will form behind it and smack the whole region.
-
Should see some heavier showers, maybe thundersnow, later on with the cape getting larger according to the charts.
-
Massive shower heading this way on the radar
-
Heavy Snow in Newcastle. Adding a few cm's
-
Will it make it as far inland as the tyne valley??
Certainly looks big enough, sky is start to turn white to my east and snow has arrived

Well just watched weather view nd its looking promising from the BBC's point of view, a band of snow showers moving through the region tomorrow lunch-late lunch clearing the region before dark leaving scattered showers behind it, sunday more snow showers same with monday quite widespread on sunday before heavy snow on tuesday! all to play for me thinks!
We could actually see what the southerners did in February this year.

Or fall as sleet I'd rather a cold, frosty night to allow the snow cover to crisp up in time for fresh falls over the weekend. But yes if they do hit us and fall as snow 1-2 inches can be expected
I think it will be cold enough to fall as snow. Temps are down to 0.4c now.
-
Those showers East of Edinburgh are certainly moving in the right direction . If they hit they could add a 1-2 inches.

The strange thing is some people from nearby are reporting around 6cm, whilst others are reporting 12cm. I've got 11cm so people definitely aren't just exaggerating. Maybe there are large local variations.
I live at the top of a hill on my road which might be the reason?
Plus we still had some snow left which probably would have aided it.
-
Just measured and we have 12 cm of snow outside If i was in any fit shape (hangover) i would be sledging on cow hill within 5 minutes.

Just saw the clouds light up to my north
