  1. Whilst I am particularly guilty of being a pedant, I can still see how human error can creep in; but even better, in this case, it was identified and corrected. If you want to look for conspiracy look for where there is error and no one is owning up

I am not looking for conspiracy as you put it and it has not been corrected. Data sets have been deleted but no correction. This has to do with the path politicians take to shape, tax, change and make crucial decisions so we cannot afford to poo poo this issue.

Your comment about 100% correctness is rubbish. This is straightforward and unacceptable incompetence.

  2. Now, I'll say I think there may indeed be issues with the NOAA October data GISS use so there may be an error - though how much it might effect the global figure is more doubtful. But, I'm going to wait to see what GISS say or do before I say more. They are the experts not us.

I think it is totally justifiable to say that this state of affairs is totally unacceptable. To not query and double check an obviously suspect anomaly, especially when compared with the satellite numbers that had already been released is inexcusable.

This of course raises the question with reference to all the rest of the GISS published data regarding anomalies over the years.

I think that all raw data etc. needs to be made freely available for analysis and scrutiny so that an unbiased assessment of the situation can be conducted.

  3. Once again I would expect low ice mins next summer ,once again I would expect record outflows off Greenland, once again I would expect mass loss from the iice cap tself. Surely this cannot be right in a 'cooling phase'
    ?

Errm - its your own expectations your are questioning.

  4. "According to the Daily Mail today the North Pole becomes a Island for the first time in History (150,000yrs or more)"

A spurious and quite frankly ridiculous statement. What happened in the recent past is unknown never mind 150 000 years and their statement is bluntly - a load of camel dung. It does their cause no favours among the thinking community.

  5. Well here is an interesting turnaround

There is a considerable presence within the scientific community of people who do not agree with the IPCC conclusion that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are very probably likely to be primarily responsible for the global warming that has occurred since the Industrial Revolution.
    here
  6. And please, I don't want to start a whole big argument over this. Can we just all agree to differ and draw a line under it?

Why? this subject needs debating and that is in fact the point of the forum.

In my opinion Bluecon has a point when he says there is no proof because this is substantially true -there is no proof, only theory, hype and opinion presented as such. No one scientist has been able to point to any evidence and say " There is the undeniable fact or facts that settle the matter once and for all". The whole subject is still very much an uncharted sea and much work and research needs to be done before we can even begin to draw an accurate map.

I also question the "majority of scientists believe" that keeps popping up. Do they really?

  7. It is difficult ,both in the north and south, to read the 'extent' figures at times. When you atc bla bla

You will excuse me saying so GW but that post of your is total crud. Are you really that that keen to see global disaster and mayhem that you actively look for any excuse or are you just trying to wind us all up. Yes of course the flipping ice is melting ---- its summer.
