  3. i recently purchased the smartweather pro weather station from ebay and so far seems so good. have yet to find the rite place in garden for the temp sensor as its too high and in the sun during the day but the nite time mins seem to be farely accurate. good value for money i think,
  4. the NRA station on n2 in monaghan actually recorded a low of 2.4c last nite.
  5. found some snow patches on sliabh beagh hills yesterday at about 300mts altitude. biggest one was about 20mts long and a couple of foot deep.
  6. this has been a major snowstorm. when i drove over my local sliabh beagh hills yesterday evening there was already a good few inches of drifting snow above 300mts. it has snowed continuously since then but not layed at lower levels. the snow here now is wet and blowing horizontal in the wind. bound to be a least a foot of snow on the hill now.
  7. whiteout conditions here now. heavy snow been blown in with strong winds. wasnt laying earlier but everything white now. any high ground round here will be plastered. been snowing now for 6 1/2 hours.
  8. been snowing quite heavy here for last hour and half but not really lying. bit disappointed that the snow is so wet.
  9. had snow there for about 2 hours and its left about 2 inches. nice dry snow. anyone else gettin snow?
  10. moderate wet snow here in monaghan this morn. left a half decent covering.
  11. was down the country yesterday and could see some snow patches on the slieve bloom mountains and also a mountain close to nenagh had loads of huge snow patches left. if anyone knows the name of the mountains please let me know! any other snow patche reports?
  12. all snow gone here but took a drive up sliabh beagh area this evening and only got as far as 200mts asl and had to turn back. alot of snow there still and road practically impassible. friend told me they got 8 inches of snow on that road at 200mts on monday so would imagine higher up got an extra foot on top of the foot or so that was there. above 300mts now has had full snowcover for 28 days in a row! might be able to walk up there on sunday but doubt if there will be much left after next few mild and wet days.
  13. temps down to 0c now and all remaining snow frozen solid. i reckon my local sliabh beagh hills should have 2 foot of level snow by now.wont have a chance to get up there until sunday so i hope there isnt much thaw. could have more snow tomorrow with a front moving up from the SW.
  14. we have had moderate, sometimes heavy snow since 8am. just stopped now. temps slightly too high for it to accumulate but has left nearly an inch of wet snow. could briefly see some lower hills and they are completly white. anywhere over 150mts will be plastered as its snowed for 6 hours continuous. deffo a suprise snowfall as we had sleet with temps of +2.5 last nite.
  15. not as cold here last nite. low of just -6c. currently -1.7c so things are warming up! freshening breeze is keeping temps up i think.
  16. multiple stations around the country recording double digit minus'. got a low of -12.7c in monaghan. cloud now pushed in from NE so hopefully some of the white stuff on the way.

  18. my local nra weather station got down to -10.8c last nite. todays high was -3.4c and at 7pm it was -11.5c! incredibly cold today and all trees coated in about 1cm of frost.

  23. yeah its the same shower. its moving in a sw direction and i managed to catch the western edge of it. missed the heaviest part of it though. still left another good covering. how much did you get from it? incredible luck to have caught that shower on what i thought would be a completley dry nite!
